Challenge
To showcase their skills and talent in Mathematics, elementary and high
school students from schools in the division participated in the 2015 Division Math
Fair held at Lazaro Francisco Elementary School(LFES) last October 6.
Selected students from Honorato C. Perez, Sr. Memorial Science High School
joined for each category in the said contest.
Compared to the annually held Division Math Fair; this years competition
added another category called Math Trail.
This new category requires a pair of elementary or high school students from
each school that needs to work as a team in order to accomplish objectives.
Each team were given 60 minutes to search around the grounds of LFES and
look for a red flag corresponding to one station; a maximum of 10 minutes per
station.
They were also required to bring selected measuring materials to be utilized
in the tasks related to Mathematics that each station will give.
The team with the highest score (including deduction on violations) and
fastest time to finish all stations will be awarded first place.
Meanwhile, 60 minutes were also given to participants of Math Quiz from
Grade 7-10.
The following students from HCPSMSHS won in the 2015 Division Math Fair :
Diana Costales-1st place in Grade 7 Math Quiz; Danica Po- 1st place in Grade 8 Math
Quiz; Alexis San Diego- 2nd place in Grade 9 Math Quiz; Ramlei Jan Rivera and
Raphael Joseph Dasig- 2nd place in Math Trail.
The winners in each category will represent the Division of Cabanatuan City
and will compete in the 2015 Regional Mathematics Competition in Pampanga.
