April 27, 2010 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by Bryan Ball at 7:08 PM.

The minutes from the March meeting are distributed and read.

Kitty Lambert motioned, Bruce Kogan seconds, Stonewall Democrats is to pay for 2
tickets to the Buffalo Brunch so the President and his partner can attend.

Sam Hoyt’s representative Jennifer Diagostino discussed the many LGBT issues that
Sam has supported over the years – marriage equality, GENDA, Dignity, hate crimes, etc.
Member discussion followed. Bruce Kogan motioned, Kitty Lambert seconds, all in favor
of endorsing Sam Hoyt.

Sean Cooney’s representative spoke about his announcement and canvassing efforts.

Bryan Ball to write letter to ESPA in order to inform them that we are endorsing a
candidate that is running against Stachowski because of his lack of support of our issues.
If they are not able to support us, please don’t undermine us by endorsing a candidate that
they don’t know very well.

Bryan Ball reported that the new website is up and the old one is coming down.

Carol Speser reported that she has resigned from the Commission because it is clear that
they don’t understand our issues and don’t want to. Marilyn Rogers is filling the position.

Ed Martinez motioned, Kitty Lambert seconds, Dr. Devis (North) is endorsed for Buffalo
school board.

Bruce Kogan motioned, Tom Gleed seconds, Ralph Hernandez (West) is endorsed for
Buffalo school board.

Kitty motioned, Cory Promowicz seconds, committee to be formed to organize a June

SDWNY fund raising event.

Bryan Ball reported speaking at the Buffalo/Niagara PFLAG meeting – they will be
working with us in the future.

Kitty Lambert discussed the Big Gay Wedding which has been moved from May to
October.

Tom Gleed motioned, Doug Charles seconds, SDWNY to have table at Pride celebration.

8:20 pm - Bruce Kogan motions, Kitty Lambert seconds, meeting is adjourned.
