Hillsborough County PUBLIC SCHOOLS Excellence ta Education MEMORANDUM of UNDERSTANDING Race to the Top (RTTT) Grant Hillsborough County Public Schools and Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association agree: 1. to engage in collective bargaining in accordance with Chapter 447, Florida Statutes, for the purpose of meeting the requirements set forth in the RTT Grant. 2. negotiations will not cease until all issues are resolved to the satisfaction of both parties. 3. if the DOE rejects the Local Education Agency's (LEA) application and the Local Education Agency cannot resolve the DOE's issues, the LEA will not participate in the RTT grant. 4. in the event that such RTTT-related negotiations result in modifications to the current contract, the parties agree that the modifications, unless extended through additional negotiations, shall expire upon either the expiration of the RTT grant or upon the expiration of the funding ofthe grant, whichever occurs frst. 5. the RTTT grant should provide funds necessary to implement the various required components. If the RTT rant funds do not cover the cost of implementing the component proposals, the LEA will secure other sources of funding (excluding the General Fund) in order to continue implementation.
