Detective Lieutenant Lynn Wolfe of the Hamblen County Sherifi’s
Department was involved in a serious automobile accident in the
early morning hours of December 19, 2000, ° Lieutenant Wolfe
received extensive and serious injuries in this accident and a 1999
Hamblen County Sheriff’ s Department cruiser was totally destroyed.

Although there were some early indications that alcohol might have
been a céntributing factor to this accident, it was my feeling, in
the interest of fairness to ail parties, that I should allow the
investigation of this accident by the Morristown Polica Department
o run its full course and ali facts. gathered before any action was
taken by me. That process was completed last week and the evidence
gathered was taken to the Attorney General's Office here in Hamblen
County, Tennessee by Morristown Police Chief Roger Overholt.
