A RESOLUTION URGING THE XAVIER UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION TO

HAVE A STRONGER ANTI-VANDALISM POLICY

Whereas, the Buklod Atenista as the alliance of the student councils of Ateneo de
Manila University, Ateneo de Naga University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University,
Ateneo de Davao University, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, seeks to foster
greater collaboration among the student bodies of the five universities that share a
common Ignatian heritage;

Whereas, the 27th Buklod Atenista Conference was held in Ateneo de Manila
University last May 26 -29, 2010;

Whereas, Article 2.1.15 of the Xavier University Magna Carta of 2001, states “that it
is the responsibility of the students to respect the property of the school and of
others, observe cleanliness, avoid vandalism in any form, and to respect and
preserve the environment.”

Whereas, vandalism is a pervasive problem in the Xavier University Campus;

Whereas, the XU Magna Carta states that students will be liable for any school
property destroyed;

Whereas, Vandalism is a major offense as stated in Article 2.1.15 of the Magna

Carta of Students’ Rights and Responsibilities;

Wherefore, be it resolved that we urge the school administration through the Office
of Student Affairs employ greater means of ID monitoring, an effective disincentive
system, and tap student groups for its advocacy.

Wherefore, be it finally resolved that this resolution take effects upon approval of
2/3 of the Buklod Atenista Congress.
