    O2 IN: Oxygen diffuses from the water into blood circulating


    through vessels in the filaments and lamellae.

    CO2 OUT: Carbon dioxide diffuses into the water and is


    carried out of the body.

    Oxygen rich water goes in the mouth


    and flows through the gills.
