Course Timeline:
This course covers American history from the events leading up to the Civil War all the way through the 21st
century.

Assessment Procedures:
All grades in this class are based on a point system. Different points are assigned to tests, quizzes, projects, and
other various assignments, based on the length and difficulty of the assignment. Grades are determined by the
percentage of total points earned. Work that is late will receive a 10% deduction for each day that it is late.
Grading Scale: A 100-93
B 92-83
C 82-73
D 72-65
F 64-0
Conduct:
Students are expected to be cooperative and considerate of others and of the equipment. Disruptive and/or
disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and will be dealt with according to the guidelines in the Everett Area
School District Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook.

Make-Up Policy:
It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements for making up the work missed within three days of their
return to school.

Course Requirements:
3 Ring Binder- Due to the amount of papers that the students receive throughout the year, it is expected that students
obtain a binder to keep all materials organized.

Classroom Expectations:
Be on time- Students should be in their seat when the bell rings. If there is an assignment on the
chalkboard/smartboard, students should begin working towards completing the assignment immediately.
Be Prepared for class- Be certain that you have all of the materials that are needed for class each day, including your
textbook, notebook, homework, pen, and anything else you might need. Students are not allowed to go to their
lockers during the class period.
Be courteous- All students are expected to treat everyone in the classroom with respect.
