The student will be able to retell the main events of a story including characters and setting as well as beginning,
middle, and end.

Assessment Plan
(What will be done to determine if lesson objectives have been met?)
After viewing and listening to a version of the Gingerbread Man, the students will create a poster that identifies the
beginning, middle and end of the story and at least three characters from the story. The poster will be assessed
using a rubric.

Materials:
Glogster.com; images website; Youtube Gingerbread Man video

Inclusion Techniques for Students with Special Needs:


Assistive technology (keyboard and mouse); large screen font;

Enrichment Techniques:
Story retell; complete sentences

Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL students have access
to and are able to participate in the lesson):
Working with a partner; longer time to complete the assignment; dictating sentences to be placed on the poster

Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
• Watch the Youtube video of the Gingerbread Man story.

Day 1
• Class discussion of beginning, middle and end.
• Introduce Glogster.com
• Demonstrate adding text, background, and images.
• Go over the rubric and the requirements for the assignment.
• Go to the computer lab and log students into the Glogster website.
• Allow students time to familiarize themselves with the applications features.

Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities


Day 2
• Return to the computer lab where the students will log into their Glogster accounts.
• Students will create their posters, including a title, story retell and characters.

Closure:
Day 3
• Students will share their posters with their classmates.
• The teacher will grade students using the rubric.
