    having a stroke?

    Suspect a stroke if they have


    sudden:
     Numbness or weakness of the 
    face, arm or leg, especially on 
    one side of the body
     Χ onfusion 
    Risk Factors  Tρ ouble speaking or 
      understanding
    Factors You Can’t 
     Trο uble seeing in one or both 
    Change: eyes
     Troυ ble walking, dizziness, 
    • Age 
    loss of balance or coordination
    • Gender
    • Heredity  Suddε n severe headache
    • Race

    Factors You Can 
    Change:
    • High blood pressure What Should You Do?
    • Diabetes
    • Smoking
    • High cholesterol
    • Obesity • Call 911 (don’t try to drive in a 
    • Lack of exercise private car)
    • Stimulant drug use
    • Many people with stroke deny 
    • Oral contraceptive use
    their symptoms. Don’t take
