Dear Mr. Carter:

In April 2008, the Department issued an evaluation of the Hoboken City School District pursuant to the
requirements of the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJQSAC), N.J.A.C. 6A:30 et seq.
At that time, district was placed on a continuum in each of the areas evaluated in the district performance
review (DPR): instruction and program, fiscal management, operations, personnel and governance.

Following that initial evaluation, the district developed an improvement plan, which was approved in October
2008. Staff from the Hudson County Office of Education conducted a review oIWKHGLVWULFW¶VSURJUHVVWRZDUG
addressing the missed indicators in instruction and program, fiscal management and governance. The district
continued to implement its improvement plan. The county office conducted another review of progress. Based
on that review, I am updating the placement of the district on the QSAC continuum in the areas of instruction
and program, fiscal management, and governance. Attached is a file with the results of that review. Listed
below are both the initial placement and both interim review placement scores for your district:

The district should revise its improvement plans in the area of fiscal management. Please complete the District
Improvement Plan (DIP) template that is part of the enclosed Excel file. E-mail the entire Excel file to
qsac@doe.state.nj.us no later than May 28, 2010. The Executive County Superintendent will conduct the next
