Dilation (dilatation) and curettage - literally refers to the dilation (opening) of the
cervix and surgical removal of the contents of the uterus.

Uses:

• resolve abnormal uterine bleeding

• polycystic ovary syndrome

• retained placental fragments

• 6 kelly curved long Kelly forceps/ 6 kelly curved regular- (also known as
Mosquito or Rochester forceps) are a type of hemostat usually made of
stainless steel. They resemble a pair of scissors with the blade replaced by a
blunted grip. In surgery, they may be used for holding off blood vessels or
[tissues], as general purpose clamps, or for assorted other purposes.

• 6 peritoneals (straight forceps) -A type of forceps that is used to grasps or


hold parts of the peritoneum when it is being operated.

Procedure:

Normal Spontaneous Delivery - When a pregnant women who has a completely

normal no risk pregnancy goes into labor without induction. Then continues into labor

without drugs to assist labor. Some labors take a long time so doctors speed labor up

with medication like Picton. The women must deliver vaginally, she may or may not

have an epidural, it doesn't matter.

Procedure:

Cesarean section also known as C-section or Caesar, is a surgical procedure in

which incisions are made through a mother's abdomen (laparotomy) and uterus

(hysterotomy) to deliver one or more babies. It is usually performed when a vaginal

delivery would put the baby's or mother's life or health at risk, although in recent

times it has been also performed upon request for childbirths that could otherwise

have been natural.

Procedure:

Hysterectomy- is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually performed by a


gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body, fundus, and cervix of
the uterus; often called "complete") or partial (removal of the uterine body but leaving
the cervical stump, also called "supracervical").

Recommended for the following circumstances:

• Severe and intractable endometriosis

• Certain types of reproductive system cancers (uterine, cervical, ovarian) or


tumors

• Postpartum to remove either a severe case of placenta praevia (a placenta


that has either formed over or inside the birth canal) or placenta accreta (a
placenta that has grown into and through the wall of the uterus to attach itself
to other organs), as well as a last resort in case of excessive postpartum
bleeding.
