PLANT MATERIAL QUIZ (Individual)

This visit is also a replacement class, which will take place at the Secret Garden, One Utama
(New Wing) on August 1st (Sunday), 10am. An extra handout of the Garden will be distributed
to you.

TASK

There are 7 zones in the garden:

1. Flowering trees, shrubs and herbs;

2. Foliage plants;

3. Cacti, succulents and dry-climate plants;

4. Climbers;

5. Temperate and highland Plants;

6. Herbs, spices and food plants;

7. Accent plants: Palms, cycads, aroids, conifers and bananas.

Form into 6 or 7 groups, which consist of 2 or 3 people.

Each group are to select five (5) of your preferred plants. Take photos of these plants
(significant fruit, flowers, leaves or bark) for easy identification. Don’t forget to note the scientific
and common names.

Once taken, gather all photos from all groups and download them into a laptop. All photos
together with their scientific and common names are to be distributed on the same day.

You are to be tested on the scientific and common name of the species on September 21st.
