INTRODUCTION:
UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC CABLE

●Prevent cable damage from severe weather conditions.

●to reduced emission into the surrounding area of the electromagnetic fields.
●Underground cables also pose no shock hazard.

Advantages ●No property devaluation

●No environmental degradation

●Larger current with lower resistive losses

●Fewer citizen resistance & protests

● Undergrounding is more expensive
disadvantages ●
● underground repairs can take days or weeks

● Operations And voltage control more difficult

Objective

To fabricate underground electric cable outer jacket by blending polypropylene (PP)

and polyethylene (PE) polymers in the presence of termite repellent.

To determine the thermal properties of the fabricate product.

To determine the mechanical propertied of the fabricate product.

Termites Termites are essentially subterranean in
habit and exist only in tropical and
subtropical regions up to 40 on each
side of equator
Termites feed on cellulose, generally
from wood, and attack on cables is not
food, but because their path is
obstructed.
They have hard saw tooth jaws capable
of tearing through soft materials
including some metals and plastics.

sufficiently high termite repellent is necessary; a large amount of termite repellent
repellent must be added [United State Patern; No.4, 847,151].
