Mariano Prunes, Michael Raine, and Mary Litch notes the basic terms of filming, the arts

and styles of filming, the editing applied in filming, and the use of sounds and sound

editing in order to demonstrate how these individual elements are added together to

create a film. They use an online website to format and introduce their ideas in the area of

film analysis. In order to give a better understanding of the elements of style, sounds,

cinematography, and editing, they use a number of different clips and images from

various movies such as Nashville (1975) to Written On The Wind (1956). Prunes?s,

Raine?s, and Litch?s audience are primarily faculty and students at Yale who are

interested in familiarizing themselves with film studies and techniques, but also can be

broadened to anyone that can access this site that wants to learn about film analysis,

which shows their primary purpose of educating others in film analysis.
