1. General Business Update
Fronchise
The Business Plan which sets out the strategic direction for the company and the
objectives to be achieved, is available on Switch On:
Tell Us
The 2007 Tell Us Survey (Employee opinion survey) is currenily being undertaken, all
forms should be returned by 30" March 2007.
Protecting our Revenve Project
Penalty fares scheme to be extended on to the Hounslow loop from 1" April 2007
Revenue Protection
Revenue Protection management reorganisation complete
Meeting to be held on 30" March 2007 to discuss Metro Area failure to agree
rosters.
Letters have gone out in response to applications for on train or station revenue
protection
Stoff Side scid that they had received complaints from staff opting
for on train at a new location, who were being allocated a station Revenve Protection
post at their current home station as there were no vacancies at the preferred location.Steve Bunce confirmed that enquiries would be made locally io ensure that the agreed
migration process was being carried out.
Revenue Protection management will toke over the first of the Revenue Protection
station staff from 29" April 2007.

‘Additional Ticket Vending Machines being purchosed for areas where demand is high
or where they have not yet been allocated. Best locations on stations being
considered which may result in some being relocated
Gated stations
Order being placed for 117 gates for Waterloo which Network Rail propose to have
in place by January 2008.
Weterloo CIS system
New system likely to be in place Summer 2007.
Recruitment
Recruitment continuing for sales and gate line staff also Revenue Protection Assistants
for stations where there are vacancies.
Staff Side said that they had concerns regarding the quality of training for ticket office
staff and that there were insufficient coaches. They understood that
training only covered the selling of tickets and did not cover other duties such as
refunds
Andrew Fairbank responded that a review of the quality of training would be
considered

2. Evolution Agency Staff - Update
‘Andrew Fairbank confirmed the recruitment of gate line staff was continuing and that
the number of agency staff would reduce as per the agreement.
Staff raised concerns about the motivation of existing agency staff who they
understood had been informed that the agency contract would expire 29" April 2007.
‘Andrew Fairbank took on board these concerns.3. Ticket Office Clusters - former Woking area
Recalling the discussion held at the meeting of 14" December 2006, Steve Bunce
confirmed that details of occupants of GPR positions as well as the make up of the
various clusters during the relevant period are currently being ascertained. Once these
have been collated SWT will be in a position to respond and an undertaking was
given to do this by the last week in May. This would also include the issue of the
potential over payment of expenses.
4. Local Staff Representatives - Welcome event
Andrew Fairbank explained that owing fo other commitments, it had not been possible
to hold the meeting arranged for 5" January to formulate @ programme for the
welcome event. In the circumstances a further meeting would be arranged at which it
wos agreed that John Walsh and Mike Horne would represent staff side

Gate line Assistants - Lockers
In response to concerns raised by staff side that staff would be required to share
combinations for lockers Andrew Fairbank agreed that the provision of a personal
padlock fo staff would be considered
7. Schedule 17
In response to a question from staff side, Andrew Fairbank advised that whilst this was
no longer a franchise commitment managers were required to focus heavily on
compliance with opening and closing times to ensure that the maximum amount of
tickets were sold
8. Travel Centres
Stoff side asked if there were any plans affecting the future of Travel Centres. Andrew
Fairbank responded that all retail points of sale were currently being locked at to
assess recruitment required to maximise revenue.
9. Company Council Visits 2007
Staff side to give details of proposed dates and the names of representatives
undertaking the 2007 company council visits.
