DOMESTIC VIOLENCE- is any form of abuse, violence and or coercion by a partner or previous partner that

serves to establish and maintain power and control over another person, is enacted in a context of unequal

power or privilege and has the potential to cause harm to the physical and or emotional well being of that

person.

Domestic violence has many forms like physical violence, emotional violence, sexual violence, psychological

violence, verbal and non-verbal violence.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE- this involves physical acts such hitting, slapping, pushing, kicking or threatening to

harm you in any way.

CAUSES:

• UNFAITHFULNESS

• JELOUSY

• SADISM

CONSEQUENCES:

• MENTAL DISORDER

• SEVERE BODY PAIN

• CAUSE OF DEATH

EMOTIONAL VIOLENCE- making threats, ignoring, using looks or actions or speaking in ways which are

frightening or threatening and/or making you think you’re crazy.

CAUSES:

• LACK OF RESPECT

• STRESS

• INSECURITY

CONSEQUENCES:

• LOW SELF-ESTEEM

• SELF PITY

• SUICIDAL ATTEMPT
SEXUAL VIOLENCE- this involves pressuring or forcing you to do sexual things that you don't want to do.

CAUSES:

• PEDOPHILIA

• IN USE OF DRUGS

• LUST

CONSEQUENCES:

• SEXUAL ADDICT (CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE)

• SCARED OF TRUSTING SOMEONE

• PARANOID

PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE-

the victim's psychological integrity.


CAUSES:
• MISUNDERSTANDING

• ANGER

• NOT PROUD

CONSEQUENCES:

• MENTAL DISORDER

• SEEK OF REVENGE

• PARANOID

VERBAL ABUSE- is
a form of abusive behavior involving the use of
language while non-verbal it is more on actions, gestures and body
language.
CAUSES:
• ANGER

• INSECURITY

• PRIDE

CONSEQUENCES:

• SELF PITY

• LOW SELF-ESTEEM

• DISCOURAGEMENT
