Preparation Time
 Cold Drinks –

◦ Machine portioned softdrinks were poured and


capped (7-12 Seconds)

◦ Employee portioned shakes were poured and


capped (5-7 Seconds)

◦ Milk was picked up from iced tray.

 Hot Drinks –

◦ Employee poured coffee and tea

◦ Machine dispensed hot chocolate.

◦ Each took around 5 seconds to pour and cap

Backer
 A backer is an expeditor who helped
assemble orders often starting assembly
before the customer has finished ordering.

 5-8 backers are used to meet a standard of


keeping a customer waiting less than a
minute in line and less than 30 seconds at
the counter

 Special orders such as plain burger or a filet

 Counter customer is asked to step aside

 Driver Through customer is asked to pull up


to special parking and when ready order is
hand carried to the car by an employee

 Frozen French Fries are placed in wire basket
and stored on the rack to thaw for up to two
hours before use.

 The potatoes are fried for 2 minutes and 5


seconds of cooking

 After being drained fries are emptied into a


hopper warmed by heat lamps and stored for
upto 7 minutes
The Bin
 A kind of temporary storage of finished
products
 A worker at bin manages the flow of products

into the sandwich holding bin, calling for


production as needed, wrapping the sandwiches
and keeping the bin stock organized and fresh
 Sandwiches are held no longer than 10 minutes

in the bin after wrapping


 Bin is stocked to 50% to 75% of estimation to

sell in the next 10 minutes
