Compromise of 1850

Called the Omnibus. It had eight parts, it reminded people of the public
transportation. John C Calhoun argues the compromise must not happen be-
cause slavery must expand or it will die. Daniel Webster ask for reconciliation
he sides with the south and he Is branded a traitor. William Seward said God
and Nature end slavery. Zach Taylor dies. Stephen Douglas separates the bill
into five pieces. There would be no slave trade in DC.

Five Bakers

Southern Congress men to unite the south against the compromise. Anyone
return to bondage was worth $10. The accused did not get speak on behalf.
This is going to influence the Underground railroad to become more active.

Uncle Toms Cabin

Uncle Toms Cabin was written by Harriet Beecher Stowe, she wrote it to sway
against slavery. The election of 1852, Franklin Pierce won. Lincoln gave her
credit for starting the civil war.
