A HUMBLE LAW STUDENTS’ OATH

We, the Legal Ethics Law students of Judge

Josephine Vito Cruz, do solemnly swear that we
maintain allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines.
We will commit to the study of our country’s law and
regulations with equal fervor and discernment. We
promise that every recitation and written exam shall be
treated as chances to learn something new and an
opportunity to hone our skills in defending the weak and
the bamboozled members of our state and country.
We will not wittingly nor willingly use our growing
knowledge of the law for our own means; we will not
dominate nor strike fear in the hearts of the common
man to gain advantage and power over him.
We trudge on to a new paradigm where we dispel foible
and lofty quests for fools’ gold in behalf of others’ misery
as we believe eventual good fortune comes to those who
put others before them.
With priest and nun like vows, we will conduct ourselves
as respectable law students committed to the good of the
people, the state and its sovereignty.
We impose this voluntary obligation to the time the Piper
pipes us to the fateful day of the Bar and should we
triumph from the tribulations, we follow the Piper’s order
to march till the world’s end. So help us God.
