Technique of teaching vocabulary to the 4th grade students of SD Djama’atul Ichwan Surakarta

ABSTRACT 2008. This final project is written based on my job training activities as an English teacher in SD
Djama’atul Ichwan Surakarta. This final project report discusses technique of teaching vocabulary and the
effectiveness of techniques in teaching English vocabulary to the fourth grade students of SD Djama’atul
Ichwan Surakarta. By observing the class and teaching directly at the 4th grade class, I could write the final
project completely. The technique that was used in teaching and learning English vocabulary are using
object, using picture, games, and song. I also found the effectiveness of using techniques in teaching
vocabulary. They are: attracting the students more to learn English material, helping teacher to control the
class condition, helping the students understand and memorize the material easily, making teaching learning
process fun and enjoyable, and making teaching learning process not monotonous.
