TAS Summer ’09 pre-Placement Offer Process Concluded

The TAS Summer ‘09 Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) process concluded on May 5,
2009, with seven out of 27 students from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM
Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, FMS and XLRI being made offers to join the TAS 2010
batch.

TAS Summers forms an integral part of TAS’ final intake for the next year, as it
includes a robust PPO process at the end of the summer. These internships not only
provide an excellent ‘live’ experience of the group to some of the brightest minds on
campus, they also provide the group with first-hand feedback on a potential
candidate based on the company’s actual experiences.

From a total of 1170 applications, 27 bright young students were selected to intern
with 15 Tata group companies for an 8-week period. These interns now return to
their respective business schools to complete their final year at MBA, during which
time they will serve as live Tata brand ambassadors.

Senior executives from Tata companies guided the young interns, giving them inputs
on their projects and professional conduct. Following their internships, their
contribution and suitability for TAS were further evaluated by senior management
from nine group companies. The shortlisted 15 students were met by a senior panel
including Satish Pradhan, EVP — Group HR, Tata Sons; Mukund Rajan, MD, Tata
Teleservices Maharashtra; R Mukundan, MD, Tata Chemicals, and Kishor Chaukar,
MD, Tata Industries.
