AIDS as a global disease

AIDS is getting the most attention and focus. AIDS is a global disease that also one of the few
disease that remain a threat to first world countries. The cause of this disease is the Human
Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV. HIV is most frequently spread through contact with an infected individuals
body fluids. There is so many causes of this disease to give an effect towards people who are still clean
and free from the virus of HIV.

The first reason is, the virus is spread by blood. It usually happened during the blood donation.
As an effect, many people in the past have been infected with HIV by use of blood transfusions and
blood products which were contaminated with the virus in hospitals for examples. In much, of the world
this is no longer a significant risk, as blood donation are routinely tested.

The second causes is, HIV also can shift among the drug addict by sharing the injection drugs.
The effect is people who use injected drugs are also vulnerable to HIV infection. In many parts of the
world, often because it is illegal to possess them,injecting equipment or works are shared. A tiny amount
of blood can transmit HIV and can be injected directly into the blood stream with the drugs.

HIV also can infect the baby through the mother, because usually mother breastfeed their baby.
HIV can be transmitted from an injected woman to her baby during pregnancy, delivery and
breastfeeding. There are special drugs that can greatly reduce the chances of this happening, but they
are unavailable in much of the developing world.

The last reason is by the unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person. As a result, if
sufficient blood from an infected person enters someone else’s body, then it can pass on the virus.
Sexual intercourse without a protection is risky, because the virus which is present true for unprotected
vaginal and anal sex.

As conclusion, eventhough this disease is too dangerous, as we know there is no method to tend
it. It is hard to stop the virus from spread all over the world. But, we still can avoid it and find way to
prevent the global disease, so that we can live in healthy and enjoy environment.
