EXERCISE: Make 25 examples with each phrasal verb listed.

1. ASK OUT: Brian asked Judy out to dinner and movie.


2. ADD ON: You have to add the Vat on to the price they give.
3. ADD UP: We added up the bill to check it was correct.

16. MIX UP: The DJ mixed up the night with some hard techno.
17. GIVE UP: I gave up taking sugar in tea and coffee to lose weight.
18. BLOW UP: The pressure was low, so I blew the tyre up.
19. WAIT UP: I was worried and waited up until they got some safe and sound.
20. TAKE OFF: The flight for Bogota took off on time.
21. TRY ON: I tried the jacket on before I bought it.
22. PAY BACK: I¶m going to pay him back for that insult.
23. WATCH OUT: Watch out, there¶s ice on the road.
24. PUT AWAY: The judge put him away for ten year for robbery.
25. FEED UP: She¶s been ill for fortnight, so we¶re feeding her up.
