As Christmas draws near, we are yet again reminded about the love the Father showed by gifting his only
COLLEGE MAGAZINE The work on College magazine is progressing at a good rate. The Editorial Board has called for the active participation of all the students through submission of articles. Suggestions for a good name for the magazine are also invited. The contributor of the selected name will be awarded a prize. All contributions should be submitted to the Editor on or before 22nd December 2009.
SPORTS MEET @ SCAS The 5th Annual sports meet of SCAS is currently underway. It commenced on 14 December 2009 with the Basketball match. So far, both the Basketball matches (Men & Women) have been played with Emerald taking the 1 st place in both the Men's & Women's match.
CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS The Xmas holidays are set to start on the 22nd of December. The college will reopen on 4th January 2010.
CRICKET PRACTICE NET In order to improve the facility for sports on the campus, cricket practice nets are being put up on the college grounds. This is one major improvement as there are a large number of aspiring cricketers in our midst.
CLASS ON SELF-GROOMING As part of the Women's Cell Activities, a class on self grooming was held by Mrs. Linu Joji, beautician, on the afternoon of 14th December 2009. The class was held for all the girls from 2: 15pm to 4:00pm. Various techniques of manicure were explained with demonstration
X'MAS CELEBRATIONS
As part of the Christmas Celebrations, a Christmas tree has been decorated and put up at the reception area. On behalf of the college, the Student Council did the work of decorating the tree. A giant star has also been put up at the front of the college building. The star is 12 feet tall and almost 4 feet wide. It is one of the many activities sponsored & undertaken by the 03 family and is the first of its kind in the history of the Saintgits.
NEW FACULTY
A new faculty has joined SCAS. Lr. Divya N. has taken charge in the place of Ms.Christa Mathew in the English Department.
X'MAS FRIENDS
As part of the Christmas celebrations, Christmas friends were picked by lots in all the three classes. Each person has to gift his Iher respective friend during the celebrations in college on 22nd December. The most exciting part is trying to guess who picked up whose name!! The main aim of picking Christmas friend is to indulge in the spirit of Christmas.
UNBEATABLE!!!
SCASians have yet again proved their mettle in the recent commerce fest at St. Thomas College, Pala. Our team emerged the overall champions of the fest. They secured first prize in both solo song & product launch competitions & a second prize in Best Manager competition bringing home a total cash prize of Rs. 9000.
WORLD AIDS DAY
Red ribbons were distributed on 1 stDecember by the Women's Cell to all the staff & students at SCAS in order to mark World Aids day. This was done as a symbol of support for HIV patients & to raise awareness regarding the disease. Various articles regarding the disease were put up on the Women's cell notice board.
