independent writing and vocabulary choice with some errors in SAE structures and spelling.
Preparation/Organisation/Resources: 35min
Spelling List: Lean, Horrible, Crooks, Different, Equally
Introduction:
Review passage and read through to current position. Discuss what has been happening in the
passage, what do we know so far? What is happening in the story? Review the Rhythm and
Rhyme of the ditty and work. Clap and repeat with Class.

Development:
Write the spelling words on the board. Give the students ample time to view these words and
chunk the first word on the board. Discuss the sounds of the word. Brainstorm other words with
similar structure. Once complete erase word and have the students spell the word
independently. Extend to use the word in a sentence (scaffold sentences for lower level
students).
Conclusion:
