SECURITY SERVICES NC i
COURSE DESIGN
COURSE TITLE : NC I SECURITY SERVICES
NOMINAL DURATION : 170 Hrs.
COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and
attitudes of a licensed security personnel in the field of security
servicing in accordance with existing laws (RA 5487 as
amended, Implementing Rules and Regulations, Presidential
Decrees, and SAGSD, CSG, PNP Memoranda). It also covers
performing control system in the workplace, basic
communication skills, responding to emergency situation,
demonstrating marksmanship and performing defensive
techniques.
SUMMARY OF LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of the course, the trainees/students must be able to:
1. Check persons entering and leaving the premises
2. Check vehicle entering and leaving the premises
3. Check properties entering and leaving the premises
4. Check barriers
5. Prepare written reports
6. Transmit reports
7. Demonstrate and interpret hand signals
8. Maintain logbook recordings
9. Follow emergency preparedness plan
10. Check emergency equipment
11. Receive and record threats
12. Apply first aid procedures
13. Check operational condition of firearms
14. Demonstrate marksmanship skills in different positions
15. Demonstrate disarming techniques
16. Demonstrate use of baton
17. Demonstrate use of handcuff
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Trainees or students should posses the following requirements:
• Filipino citizen;
• High School Graduate;
• Physically and mentally fit;
• Not less than eighteen (18) years of age nor more than fifty (50) years of
age (for new applicants and SGs in nonsupervisory position; and
• Has undergone a prelicensing training course or its equivalent

required to apply the basic housekeeping procedures.

LO 1. FOLLOW EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. Functions/roles of security guards during emergencies are followed in accordance
with the emergency preparedness plan
2. Status of emergency is identified in accordance with standard operating procedures
(SOP)
3. Evacuation areas are prepared in accordance with standard operating procedures
4. Direction and control of emergency routes are identified based on emergency plan
5. Victims are brought to designated safe areas in accordance with standard operating
procedures
CONTENTS:
• Types of emergency
• Role of Security guard during emergency
• Basic fire prevention and control
• Supervision of local executives/PNP over PSA
• Threats (Manmade and natural)
CONDITION:
Students/trainees must be provided with the following:
• Patrol vehicle (optional)
• Communication equipment
• Timepiece (synchronized)
• Emergency equipment (e.g. stretcher, ladder, axe, etc.)
• Flashlight/searchlight
• Sample of company emergency plan
• Manual on 2003 RRI, RA 5487 as amended

• Emergency unit checklist (PNP, Hospital, Fire brigade)

LO 2. CHECK EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. Emergency equipment and alarm is checked according to its operational condition
2. Observations are noted in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP)
3. Location of emergency equipment is checked in accordance with standard operating
procedure

procedures
4. Assistance of emergency medical services is requested in accordance with standard
operating procedure

3. Handling of firearms during firing is performed in accordance with cardinal rules of
gun safety
4. Actual firing is performed in accordance with standard operating procedure
5. Marksmanship skill is obtained in accordance with prescribed standard objective
