Hi Everybody,

In all, there are 4 rounds and each round is an elimination round.

1) Written Test
2) Technical interview
3) Managerial Interview
4) HR

1) The Written test is an online test in which:

1) 35 questions.
2) 60 minutes.
3) +1 each correct answers.
4) -0.33 each wrong answers.
5) No verbal questions, no comprehensions.
6) Easy questions based on series, age, permutation & combinations, simple numerical
solving ability question speed & distance, problems on trains, average, etc

I do not remember exact questions but Some of the questions i faced were.

1) Related to some bear problem, in which loads of diversion of mind is done but final
ques is what is the colour of the bear.
Ans- is white

2) Related to age--sum/average of ages of 5 people is given & a 6th person joins in &
then sum/average of 6 ppl are given, find the age of 6th new person.

3) Related to direction & distance : a person is travelling in so n so direction , eg - 5km

north then 5km east then 10km north then so n so...find the distance between original &
final positions...

4) Permutaion relational question : a case is given...choose which permutation formula

satisfies it best..

5) Ratio of ages of 2 people are given, some year back or ago & their relation/sum etc is
given...find their present ages' ratio

6) A jumbled word is given & u have to select the category it belongs to ARPAEETK
Ans: PARAKEET - its a bird

7) Related to A pony & some horse running away from stable...Horse cought the ref..after
few hrs say 4hrs .speed of horse is 35kmph and he left stable 3 hrs after pony left stable
then what is speed of pony?
Ans: pony ran for total 7 hrs...same dist covered by horse in 4 hrs with 35 kmph..thus
dist of horse 35X4 & speed of pony--35X4/7

8) Mumbai building dept decide to give numbers to building..1-30 numbers were given to
industrial buildings...1-100 were given to res.buildings ..Find how many number of 2's
(or 6's or 3's) were used while numbering res.buildings..

9) Some expression can be given to be solved : use calci to solve it

10) A toy train can make 10 sounds sound changes aftr every 4 min train is defective and
can make only 2 sounds. Find probability that same sound is repeated 3 (or 8 etc )times
consecutively.

11) There are 3 grandsons age diff between 2 of grandsons is A (say 3 or 2 etc) yrs 1st
grandson is twice elder than younger one &sum of ages of all the three is B (say 8 or 5
etc) yrs then what is age of eldest grandson..

12) A very long question...but in the end. If Mohan's Ferrari is 3 times faster than his old
MERCEDES wich gave him 35 kmph if Mohan travelled 490 km in his ferrari the hw
much time(hrs) he took?

13) Related to finding out the present day: say if A event is on Mon tues thurs B on
sunday sat etc.

14) The cost 1 plum is 1 cent ,2 apples is 1 cent,3 banana is 1 cent, if A buys same
amount of fruits for his 3 sons spending 7 cent den what amount of fruit each child will
get?

16) Related to blocks an room to be filled by blocks the length , breadth & height of each
block & the room is given. Find no. of blocks etc or related question.

17) Some probability ques on gloves, jackets, hats etc type of data given. Something like
a girl has 3 gloves of same color , 3 hats of same color & 3 jackets of same color there s
no light & she puts in her hand in her wardrobe to collect any 2 things. What is the
probability of her getting the same color things (say gloves, or hats etc)?
Test Paper :28
Paper Type : Whole Testpaper
Test Date : 29 August 2010
Test Location : SAI RAM ENGG COLLEGE, CHENNAI
Posted By : Chandra Mohan Ravuri

Hi,
I am Chandra Mohan Ravuri. I attended the TCS off campus at Sai Ram engg college
at Chennai on 29th of August and got selected. I am uploading my experience so that
it will be usefull for all job seekers in TCS.

The selection process consists of two rounds only.

1. Quantitative aptitude test: It is online test consists of thounds of questions

among tehm you will be given 35 questions and the time limit is 1 hour. Each
question carries 1 mark and wrong answer carries -0.33 marks.
2. Technical and HR interviews

Tips to crack aptitude :

1. Never Guess an answer . Attend only the questions you are reasonably certain of
answering correctly . (I attended exactly 30 questions , Never guessed any question
randomly.

2. If you dont get the answer in the first try or you get stuck up quickly skip the
question . Come back to it later if you have time. ( I attended the first question
skipped 8 questions before answering the next question).

3. Read the question fully once and find out what they are asking . Most of the time
they give a lot of irrelevant data to confuse you. For example they may ask a
problem on ages but may also give you data on blood relations (i have 2 brother and
2 sisters. You have to correctly deduce the fact that you only need information
related to Age and the rest is irrelevant data .

4. Try not to panic at the sight of those long questions. Most problems are very
simple which require you to do some logical thinking with a clear mind.

5. There will be certain questions which will be very simple but will have small
twists .

6. Most questions asked have a fixed pattern. A friend of mine attended the
interview on 21st (she too got selected). Most of the questions i got were similar to
the ones she got with slight changes introduced (learn the logic dont mug up the
answer) .

Some of the questions which I remembered are as given below.

1) If an old women's age is the same as her three grand daughters i, mean the
number of days old child=the no of weeks old child=no of months old child. The total
years of all these ppl is 114 years then how old is the old woman?

The year has 365 days and 30 days each month.

I calculated it with the options given try 2 use the calculator its easy. Don't
remember the answer.

2) There was a piece of cloth which is 135 miles long and 35ft wide and some
nonsense again then he wants to divide the cloth into pieces with one mile each if he
took 7 secs for cutting piece. What is the time taken for cutting the whole of the
cloth into pieces?

135-1=134 x 7=938 secs.

3) A woman had somany gloves and hats 22 red,34 blue, 45 white there was power
cut and she took a glove and how many gloves shud she take so that she gets a pair
of glove fr each color?

Don't know the answer.

4) Problem on ((a3-b3)/(a2-ab-b2))=(a- don waste tym directly calculate it!

5) The bear problem..i put it as black.

6) Parateeka(Bird)

7) If a person climbed a hill which was 200 mtrs high. The average speed while
climbing was 23 mph and while coming down was 30 mph. Then what is the average
speed of his journey?

Use the formula (2xy)/(x+y)

8) If the are 2 containers of 1 ltr each. I had Pepsi and another water. If one spoon
from Pepsi was taken and added in water and then frm the mixed container of water
one spoon was taken and added in Pepsi..

So pepsi had more quantity of Pepsi than what water had in 2nd container.

9) If the area was hit by a virus and so the decrease in the population because of
death was x/3 and the migration from other places increased a population by 2x then
annually it had so many ppl. find our the population in the starting.

10) If the milk and water was added in 5:4 ratio then how much more water should
be added so he gets the ratio of 6:7.(Not exact question but something like that)
11) A tank fills in the squence of 10, 20 ,40,80.... (means 10 litre in 1 hr, 20 litr i
2nd nd so). If at the 4th hour the tank is 1/4 full when will it be full?

Ans: x/4=80

i.e. 6th hour

That means capacity of tank is 320 litres. From the series we can see that in 5th hr
it's 160 nd then in 6th hr it's 320 so answer is 6

12) 2 very simple questions on ages like if 3 years back i was 2 times of my friends
age and so and so. If you know the basic concept you will be able to solve that.

13) There are only bicycles and 4-wheelers in the parking. If the total number of
wheels are 240.

What can be the possible number of cycles?

Ans: 2x+ 4y= 240

See options ie the value of x from the options. Then check the value of y from eqn
for each option. The value of x for which y is a integer would be the answer.

14) The cost of making robot is divided into cost of material, Cost of repairing nd
cost of painting in the ratio of 5: 2: 3 the cost usd for material is 200. Find the total
cost of making the robot?

Ans: 5x/10=200

So x=400 Ans.

15) If jack lies on Mon, Tue Wed and jill lies on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If
both together tell they lied yesterday. So c the given options and then c cos in the
given dates one will be saying the truth and one will be lying. I got Thursday as
option because jack is saying the truth he lied yest but jill is lying again as he lies on
that day.

16) Scientist starts from his base camp from North (my friend got North Pole) chases
after a Bear etc.

Answer lies in the first sentence that says that Bear's Color changes according to the
weather. As far as i know there are 2 kinds of bears. The Normal ones which are
Black and the Polar Bears which are white. Polar Bears are present only in the North
and South poles (Arctic and Antarctica). I chose white i am not sure if that was
correct (if it was North Pole white is the correct answer)
17) Seamstress makes a cut on a piece of cloth in 3 secs. If she wants to cut the
cloth into 11 pieces. How much time would it take. (My friend got the same question
with different values)

Answer: To cut a piece of cloth into 11 pieces she has to make 10 cuts. so 10*3 =
30secs is the answer.

18) A lady is trying to pick gloves and hats from her wardrobe in the dark. She has
22 white and 33 green ones. She wants to pick a pair of gloves of white and green.
How many tries before she gets it right?

Answer: They mentioned 'hat' to confuse you. Its a standard probability question .

19) Rearrange a jumbled word and say if the word is a bird, animal, vegetable or a
city

Answer: skipped because of lack of time

20) A man was standing before a painting of a person . He says "Brothers and sisters
i have none . The man's father is my father's son" . (I love poems ) . How is the
person in the painting related to this man .

Answer: Son

21) 2 buckets with milk and water. A person takes a cup from the bucket with water
and pours into the bucket with milk and takes a cup from the milk (mixed with water
now) and pours into the bucket with water.

Answer: Both buckets have the same amount of liquid.

22) A problem on cuboids

I don't remember exactly the question, one logical problem stating the colour of
beer?

Answer: If you know the surface area of a cuboid its just simple multiplication.

23) Rapunzel walks into the forest of forgetfullness. She meets a Lion who lies on
Monday Tuesdays and Wednesdays and meets a rabbit who lies on Thurs fridays and
saturdays . On that day both say that "I lied yesterday". What day is it .

Answer: Easy enough. Try solving it.

24) 4 Guys standing in a queue in a supermarket. Their average weight is 43. 1

more guy joins the queue and the average weight changes to 42. What is the weight
of the new guy.

Answer: Use formula Avg = sum of weights / Total Number

25) Another standard Problem on Ages

26) T-Nagar problem

Answer: Did not attend .

27) A horse relieved from a stable. A pony started 2 hours later and went chasing
after it and caught up ( Don't remember any more)

Answer: Skipped

28) A Guy had a Mercedes and another guy had a ferrari. This Ferrari ran twice as
fast as the Mercedes
Answer: Use the formula Speed = Distance / Time

Thats all i remember now!

Best of luck for those attending the off-campus.

29) I don't remember exactly the question, one logical problem stating the colour of
beer?

Ans: White.

30) There was a scientist who after doing research, found that color of skin of
animals vary with change in distance. One day he started to chase a beer. He walked
1 mile towards north, then turned and walked 1 mile towards east and then caught
the beer and radio-ribboned the beer. Then he left the beer at that spot and returned
to his base-station taking a turn towards south (walked 1 mile towards south). Then
what was the color of beer at that spot?

a)White b)Brown c)Black d)Grey

31) Also a one question like color of bear? (obviously its black)

Ans. Black

32) The problem of BEAR is about identifying its color with regard to its Region
whether it is from North or South or East or West. Because, The Bear's color will vary
in different location and so they have mentioned this as distance. As far I know,
North - White Bear ( Polar Bear )

East-Black Bear

South-Black Bear (Sometimes Grey too )

West-Brown Bear

33) In the class of 40 students, 30 speak Hindi and 20 speak English. What is the
lowest possible number of students who speak both the languages?

a) 5 b) 20 c) 15 d) 10 e) 30
34) If A, B and C are the mechanisms used separately to reduce the wastage of fuel
by 30%, 20% and 10%. What will be the fuel economy if they were used combined.

3/10+2/10+1/10

35) A can do a piece of work in 20 days, which B can do in 12 days. In 9 days B does
Ÿ of the work. How many days will A take to finish the remaining work?

9/12=3/4

So remaing work is 1-3/4=1/4

4/20=1/5

5days work

Some Sample questions of TCS.

1) If 20 men take 15 days to complete a job, in how many days can 25 men finish
that work?

2) One fast typist type some matter in 2hr and another slow typist type the same
matter in 3hr. if both do combine in how much time they will finish.

3) The ratio of incomes of C and D is 3:4.the ratio of their expenditures is 4:5.Find

the ratio of their savings if the savings of C is one fourths of his income?

4) 6 persons standing in queue with different age group, after two years their
average age will be 43 and seventh person joined with them. hence the current
average age has become 45. find the age of seventh person?

Solution: Here the question appear as an easy one, but carried a lot of unwanted
sentences and unwanted datas (i dint mention above) in exam which may confuse
you on solving technique.

5) Let x be current average age of first 6 persons in queue and current age of
seventh person be y. Then 6x will become the sum of those 6 persons age. Now, let
compute the sum of those 6 persons after two years, 6x+12 (as each and individual
increase their age by 2). hence its average become (6x+12)/6 = 43 (give in question
itself). So now we can compute x from above equation. (x = 41, 6x = 246).

Let now we compute y, ((6x+y)/7) = 45, as we have value of x, compute y.

Ans: 69

6) Horse started to chase dog as it relieved stable two hrs ago. And horse started to
ran with average speed 22km/hr, horse crossed 10 mts road and two small pounds
with depth 3m, and it crossed two small street with 200 mts length. After traveling 6
hrs, 2hrs after sunset it got dog. compute the speed of dog?

Ans: As we have speed and travel time of horse, we can get distance travelled by it.
Hence d = 22*6 = 132km,

Exactly this 132km was travelled by dog in 8 hours (as it started two hours earlier).

Hence speed of dog = 132/8 = 16.5km/hr

Ans: 16.5km/hr.

7) 3, 22 , 7, 45, 15, ? , 31

Solution: Here it appear simple, because it arranged in arranged in sequence

manner, but the actual question was some what twist mentioning fibonacci series
and more over question was in statements (no numbers). Hence first try to
understand the question well. Here let group alternate terms 3,7,15,31 (3+4 =7,
7+8 =15, 15+16=31)

Similarly for second group (22,45,? (22+23 = 45, 45+46 = 91) hence ans is 91.

8) In Tnagar many buildings were under residential category.for buildings they

number as 1 to 100. For shops, corporation numbered between 150 and 200 only
prime numbers. how many time 6 will appear in building numbering?

Ans:

For 1 to 10 - 1 six

2 to 20 - 1 six

Similarly upto 59 we utilise six, 5 times

from 60 to 69 (including 66) - 11 times

from 70 to 100 - 3, hence ans = 5+11+3 = 19

Ans:19.

9) ((4x+3y)+(5x+9y))/(5x+5y) = ? as (x/2y) = 2

Ans: 2 (simple algebra, I think no need of explanation)

10) If we subract a number with y, we get 4 increase of number, once it got divided
by y itself.. Find that number??

Ans: 12 (we can easily predict from options, as we take y as 6)

11) I dont remember exactly the question, one logical problem stating the colour of
beer?

Ans: white.
12) Jumbled letters, parakeet (answer)

Ans: bird (category)

13) Ratio proportional problem with age. Sorry, dint remember exact question.

14) One question like. (209*144)^2 + (209*209)+(209*144)+(144*144) = ?

Ans: Here you can use calc, many(4 to 5) questions were depend upon calc alone.
(no need problem solving technique).

15) I'm only son for my parents. (Some irrelevant statements in the middle to
distract you). The man in picture is my father's son. (some irrelevant
statements).Sho is he?

Ans: He himself (blood relation type of question).

Some other questions:

1.6 persons standing in queue with different age group, after two years their average age
will be 43 and seventh person joined with them. hence the current average age has
become 45. find the age of seventh person?
Ans: Let x be current average age of first 6 persons in queue and current age of seventh
person be y. Then 6x will become the sum of those 6 persons age.
Now, let compute the sum of those 6 persons after two years, 6x+12 (as each and
individual increase their age by 2). hence its average become

(6x+12)/6 = 43

=>x+2=43

=>x=41

Let now we compute y, ((6*41+y)/7) = 45,

y= 69

1) Written test
There were 35 questions in all and was negative marking of .33 marks. Total time alloted
was 1 hour. I attempted 23 question. i think cutoff was 21.

Many questions were very easy and have direct answers. So please don't get stick to one
question. See atleast all the questions
(the questions seems to be too lengthy but you find the main content in last 2 lines only,
near about 8- 10 questions repeat in each paper)

Q1 What is the value of x+4y/x-2y. Given x/2y=2

Ans: 4.

Q2 Animals show different bahavioural changes at different environments.

A scientist at his research lab go 1 mile to north direction to study behaviour changes by
bear. there he follow a bear towards east direction
for 1Km but has not radio collard it. Then he return to south direction by travelling 1 Km.
What is the colour of bear.(Nothing is missing in this question).
1 Grey 2 White 3 Black 4 Yello

Ans White. There is no definite logic of this question, but because scientist go in north
direction so its colour is white, because at the north pole bear are white.

Q3: There are 10 reading spots in a room. Each reading spot has a round table. Each
round table has 4 chair. If different no of persons are sitting at each reading spot. And if
there are 10 persons inside the room
then how many reading spots donot have atleast a single reader.
(1) 5 (2) 6 (3) 7 (4) None
Ans 6. because different no of persons are sitting on round table. So possible differnt
combinations for 10 people will be 1 2 3 4. because max 4 people can sit on round table.
so round tables left are 6.

The computer based test had questions from:

Area and Perimeter, Probability (Many questions from this chapter only).
Problems on Ages & trains(Many questions from this chapter).
Pipes and Cisterns, Ratio and Proportion, permutation and combination and some
logical questions

The will be option button called clue in the page where you can avail the clue for all
question and formula. But you have to choose which formula for which question.

The questions are pretty lengthy but with all irrelevant statements. I remember one
question where they told about a romantic story of Alice and Paul and then right at
the end after 5-6 lines, they came up with a question on ages of Alice and Paul. I'd
rather suggest everyone to start reading the question from where they find any
numerical data.

I don't remember many questions but only a few (and that too not with exact
numerical value). I'll share with you a few questions such that you can understand
what the question asked for.

Question 1: There is a toy train that can make 10 musical sounds. It makes 2
musical sounds after being defective. What is the probability that same musical
sound would be produced 5 times consecutively? (1 of )?
Answer: 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/32
32 will be the answer. (My friends got similar question with "3 times consecutively";
for that the answer would be 8)

Question 2: Peter and Paul are two friends. The sum of their ages is 35 years. Peter
is twice as old as Paul was when Peter was as old as Paul is now. What is the present
age of Peter?
Luckily, I had this question twice. Initially I left it because of the confusing statement
but when I got the same question second time with different names of the friends
(Pooja and Prasad) then I gave a little extra time and solved it.
Answer: 20 years. I simply substituted the answers in the statement to find the best
fit, because the statement in the question was pretty confusing.

Question 3: The ages of two friends is in the ratio 6:5. The sum of their ages is
66.After how many years will the ages be in the ratio 8:7?
Answer: 12 years.

Question 4: (There was a long story, I'll cut short it). There are 5 materials to make
a perfume: Lilac, Balsalmic, Lemon, Woody and Mimosaic. To make a perfume that is
in demand the following conditions are to be followed: Lilac and Balsalmic go
together. Woody and Mimosaic go together, Woody and Balsalmic never go together.
Lemon can be added with any material. (Actually they had also mentioned how much
amount of one can be added with how much quantity of the other; but that's not
needed for the question.) All of the following combinations are possible to make a
perfume except:
1) Balsalmic and Lilac
2) Woody and Lemon
3) Mimosaic and Woody
4) Mimosaic and Lilac
Answer: Mimosaic and Lilac. I have made the question here really easy to
understand. But the actual question was in a twisted language and it was difficult to
find the answer. It took me some time to get to the answer.

Question 5: A girl has to make pizza with different toppings. There are 8 different
toppings. In how many ways can she make pizzas with 2 different toppings.
Answer: 8 * 7 = 56

Question 6: A triangle is made from a rope. The sides of the triangle are 25 cm, 11
cm and 31 cm. What will be the area of the square made from the same rope?
Answer: 280.5625

Question 7: What is the distance between the z-intercept from the x-intercept in the
equation ax+by+cz+d=0. (I do not remember the values of a,b,c,d)

Question 8: An athlete decides to run the same distance in 1/4th less time that she
usually took. By how much percent will she have to increase her average speed?
Answer: 33.33%

Question 9: A horse chases a pony 3 hours after the pony runs. Horse takes 4 hours
to reach the pony. If the average speed of the horse is 35 kmph, what s the average
speed of the pony? (This question was really long with loads of irrelevant statement)

Question 10: There is 7 friends (A1, A2, A3....A7). If A1 have to have shake with all
with out repeat. How many hand shakes possible?(I dont know the exact question
but like this only)
Question 11: There are two pipes A and B. If A filled 10 liters in a hour B can fills 20
liters in same time. Likewise B can fill 10, 20, 40, 80,160….if B filled in (1/16) th of a
tank in 3 hours, how much time will it take to fill completely?
Answer: 7 hours
Question 12: Keywords: Sports readers, 10 tables, 4chairs per table, each table has
different number of people then how many tables will left without at least one
person?
Ans: 6

1. There is ferarri and benz car, benz speed is say 10kmph and it cover 10 km.And if
ferarri goes with 3 times faster than benz.So in how much time ferarri could take to
cover same distance.
sol: as speed of ferarri is 3*10=30 so time will be 10/30

2. If one lady have 3 daughter and any of out 3 have diff, of ages is 3.And oldest is
3 times of more than 2 than yougest after 2 years then tell the age of oldest
daughter.
Solution: let x is youngest ,y middle ,z oldest. so y-x=3, z-y=3, and z=2=2(x+2)
and put the option answer try to get condition.(sorry i forgot option but pattern ll
be same)

3.One question like that ,there is fabonaci series and you have to find one
number ..clue-it based on series

4.area of trapezium?

5.if a person moves 15km straight and turns 45km right and moves 15km straight
then how much distance he needs to walk to reach starting point?
6.if pqrstu implies qrstuv then abcdefg implies what?
7.if there are 30 cans out of them one is poisoned if a person tastes very little he will
die within 14 hours so if there are mice to test and 24 hours ,how many mices are
required to find the poisoned can?
.if atlantic is found in atlantic ocean ,india is found in
indian ocean then which of the following cases are true
8.if a and b are mixed in 3:5 ration and b,c are mixed in 8:5 ration if the final
mixture is 35 litres,find the amount { a/b=3*8/5*8 and b/c=8*5/5*5
a/b/c=24:40:25 ans=40*35/(24+40+35)=1400/89

Ans=15.79}
of b in the final mixture
9.1!+2!+....50!=3*10^64?

and the rest are like passage questions ,be sure to find the answer as soon as
possible within 15 seconds,if you are not
able to do in 15 seconds then skip it and give a try at last.

10. There was a scientist who after doing research , found that color of skin of
animals

vary with change in distance. One day he started to chase a beer .He walked 1 mile

towards north , then turned and walked 1 mile towards east and then caught the
beer and

radio-ribboned the beer

Then he left the beer at that spot and returned to his base-station taking a turn
towards

south (walked 1 mile towards south). Then what was the color of beer at that spot?

a)white(ans)
b)brown
c)black
d)grey

11.) 6 persons standing in queue with different age group, after two years their
average age will be 43 and seventh person joined with them. hence the current
average age has become 45. find the age of seventh person?

Solution: Here the question appear as an easy one, but carried a lot of unwanted
sentences and unwanted datas(i dint mention above) in exam which may confuse u
on solving technique.

Let x be current average age of first 6 persons in queue and current age of seventh
person be y. Then 6x will become the sum of those 6 persons age.

Now, let compute the sum of those 6 persons after two years, 6x+12 (as each and
individual increase their age by 2). hence its average become (6x+12)/6 = 43 (give
in question itself).

So now we can compute x from above equation. (x = 41, 6x = 246)

Let now we compute y, ((6x+y)/7) = 45, as we have value of x, compute y.

Ans: 69

12) Horse started to chase dog as it relieved stable two hrs ago. And horse started to
ran with average speed 22km/hr, horse crossed 10 mts road and two small pounds
with depth 3m, and it crossed two small street with 200 mts length. After traveling 6
hrs, 2hrs after sunset it got dog. compute the speed of dog?

Ans: As we have speed and travel time of horse, we can get distance travelled by
it...

Hence d = 22*6 = 132km,

Exactly this 132km was travelled by dog in 8 hours (as it started two hours earlier).

Hence speed of dog = 132/8 = 16.5km/hr

Ans:16.5km/hr.

13) 3, 22 , 7, 45, 15, ? , 31

Solution: Here it appear simple, because it arranged in arranged in sequence

manner, but the actual question was some what twist mentioning fibonacci series
and more over question was in statements (no numbers).. hence first try to
understand the question well.

here let group alternate terms 3,7,15,31 (3+4 =7, 7+8 =15, 15+16=31)

Similarly for second group (22,45,? (22+23 = 45, 45+46 = 91) hence ans is 91.

14) In Tnagar many buildings were under residential category.for buildings they
number as 1 to 100.

Ans:19.

13)((4x+3y)+(5x+9y))/(5x+5y) = ? as (x/2y) = 2

Ans: 2(simple algebra, i think u no need of explanation)

15) If we subract a number with y, we get 4 increase of number, once it got divided
by y itself.. Find that number??

Ans: 12 (we can easily predict from options, as we take y as 6)

16) Jumbled letters, parakeet(answer)

Ans: bird(category)

17) one question like. (209*144)^2 + (209*209)+(209*144)+(144*144) = ?

Ans: here you can use calc, many(4 to 5) questions were depend upon calc alone.(no
need problem solving technique).

18) Im only son for my parents. (some irrelevant statements in the middle to
distract u).The man in picture is my father's son.(some irrelevant statements).who is
he?
Ans: he himself(blood relation type of question).ans .his son

19) It is the class with the seating arrangement in 4 rows and 8 columns. When the
teacher says 'start' the girl who is sitting in first row and first column will say 1, then
the next girl sitting behind her will say 4, the next girl sitting behind that girl will say
7, in a particular order each girl is telling a number, the following girls told 10, 13
next turn is yours what u will say?16

20) A man is standing in front of a painting of a man, and he tells us the following:
Brothers and sisters have I none, but this man's father is my fathers son. Who's on
the painting?

a) The Son

b) The Father

c) Himself ; const html Riddle1Sol = The Solution: His son

An Explanation

We can replace my fathers son by myself since he is the only child. Now remains:
This man s father is myself, so this man is his son.

21) It is dark in my bedroom and I want to get two socks of the same color from my
drawer, which contains 24 red and 24 blue socks. How many socks do I have to take
from the drawer to get at least two socks of the same color?

Hi Friends,

Here are some questions asked in TCS placement drive held in Vel tech, Chennai.
Only 2 rounds. First aptitude round. Online test.
Here there are 35 questions only maths. No verbal and nonverbal. All 35
questions are from quantitative aptitude. Time is one hour. Most of the
questions will be in paragraph type. Irrevelant informations will be there.
But we have to choose only the datas which are relate to the question. I
heard that these questions are prepared by IIT atudents but it is not worth.

distance,directions,sequence,time and work,probability,blood relation.
Try to attend 20 questions which should be absolutely correct. There is
negative marking for the wrong answers. Don't waste the time in reading a
single question just skip to next, u can see it later.
