STEPPING TOWARDS NEW HORIZON

To all my Patients, Friends and Well-wishers

Chaitanya Stem Center was established one year back with dedication to treat and rehabilitate
disabled children and to make them self-dependant. We believe that nobody deserves a
handicapped life, so we are taking genuine efforts to get rid of the unhealthy, unhappy phase of
your life and to return your smile back to you.
Since last one year, at our Stem Cell Center, we have treated more than 80 patients having
chronic intractable diseases like Cerebral palsy, Mental retardation, Spinal Paraplegia, Autism
and other neurological Disorders etc. We have treated 8 cases of Diabetes Mellitus I & II with
good results.
We are using Bone Marrow Stem Cells / Cord Blood Stem Cells to induce regeneration and
replace the damaged cells in various 75 disorders . We studied 80 cases of Stem Cell
Transplantation with remarkable improvement in around 70 % which were otherwise
untreatable.
I will be glad to extend support of Chaitanya Family to you all and wish you a prosperous , healthy
and blossoming life.

WHAT ARE STEM CELLS ?

The discovery of the stem cell has lead to a revolution in modern medicine. Stem
cells are the "basic cells" of our bodies, which can develop and differentiate in
any type of cell.
These cells migrate to injured areas within the body and get transplanted and
transform themselves into new tissue cells that replace the damaged ones. Stem
cells have the capacity to multiply and to renew themselves almost indefinitely.
This contrasts with nerve cells, muscle cells and blood cells, which cannot
multiply themselves and have limited life spans.
Stem cells are the foundation cells for every organ, tissue and every cell of body.
Thus first stem cells originate within the developing embryo.

Sources of Stem cells

Adult stem cells:
Stem cells do not completely disappear after birth, but are stored at some sites as
reserves to replenish the damage. These reservoirs can be brought to use by their
(stem cells) extraction from certain sites like bone marrow, peripheral blood and
some tissues
Embryonic stem cells:
Embryonic stem cells are derived from inner cell mass of blastocyst. They fertilize
and divide into different cells. But for obtaining these stem cells the embryo has to

*Ability to differentiate to desired tissue i.e Brain, pancreas etc..
Cord blood:
Cord blood is a rich source of stem cell. 150 cc of cord blood is collected under
strict aseptic precaution and stored in cord blood bank. Cord blood can be stored
for 21 years and can be used for almost 120 diseases for the same child in future.

Autism
Autism is a brain development disorder characterized by impaired social
interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior.
These signs all begin before a child is three years old. Autism involves
many parts of the brain. How it occurs is not well understood.
There is no cure for Autism. The main goals of treatment are to lessen
associated deficits and family distress, and to increase quality of life and

Stem Cell Therapy - Procedure
The entire procedure consists of the following phases
A. Thorough physical and blood examination will be done by panel of consultants. You will be asked to get PET scan / MRI to check eligibility for the
therapy.
B. Stem cell collection will be done next day. The Chaitanya stem Cell- procedure employs autologous adult stem cells. These cells are collected
from your own bone marrow, Sample will be send to laboratory where the stem cells will be isolated from bone and processing, isolation and
quality checking of the cell will be done.
C. First dose of Isolated stem cell will be given by intrathecal / intralesional injection. You will be discharged on next day. You will need regular
follow-up as recommended by us.
D. Second dose of Stem Cell Injection after 3 month or as per our instruction, & 3rd dose, if needed later on. You will be subjected to repeated PET
scan to monitor progress of stem cell implantation. However the treatment pattern may change as per patients status and disease
