or unw illing to take the risks leave it and do not go further as nobody w ants a

How to Install Drivers (ex ADB)
First things first, you w illneed to installthe Sam sung drivers for your device if
you are using W indow s 7 (or probably W indow s Vista (G od Forbid)) allyou
need to do is plug in phone to the U SB port, m ount the D rive by dragging the
top bar dow n and selecting m ount.
Then go to Settings > > Applications > > D evelopm ent and select U SB
D ebugging and them m ount the drive again.
If you have problem s installSam sungs latest PC Suite from

Select the device it w illbe called Sam sung G alaxy, Sam sung –i7500 or m aybe
even Sam sung G T-i7500, the nam ing convention used is inconsistent so it
depends on w hat tim e of day it is or som ething like that.

If allyou w ant to do is update firm w are via O din you can stop there for the
RO M S there is another driver you need but see below for that.
How to get Odin
So now to get O din, dow nload from : http://w w w .m egaupload.com /?

d= M KZTVVQ 0
and extract them .
Then you need the latest firm w are so choose one from the folow ing list (the
low er the new er)
I7500XXII4 (originalO 2 Firm w are w ith CSC) M EG AU PLO AD - The leading

You need to extract the .tar files from the dow noaded .zip.
O nce you have allthe files you need, start the phone in dow nload m ode by
pressing Volum e D ow n > > O K > > and Pow er O n
The phone should boot to dow nload m ode, then plug in the U SB again and open
O din, then select:
-O ne package from the options tick Boxes
-Select the file path for O PS w hich is the O rion.ops file

-Select the file path for O ne Package w hich is the firm w are .Tar file
Press start the phone w illreboot once done, you m ust then factory reset by
going, Settings > > SD card & Phone Storage > > Factory data reset
That’s it! D one.
ADB Driver
This is to installthe AD B D river and G alexo RO M ’s AFTER you have flashed to

II5 from above directions
First to get the required tools file for this go to http://w w w .m egaupload.com /?

Then you need to installthe adb driver so enable debugging, Settings > >
Applications > > D evelopm ent and select U SB D ebugging :
Right click M y Com puter > > Properties > > D evice M anager then you should
see an unknow n device that did not installw hen w e plugged in the phone
previously, this driver is located in the tools file you just dow nloaded under
U SB_D river
So right click unknow n device and update driver softw are, you m ust choose
brow se m y com puter for softw are > > Let m e pick from a list of drivers > > next
> > have disk then brow se to the file w hich is \tools\usb_driver\x86
It m ay not be exactly the above it depends on your O S so keep searching for
the have disk option.
Installing Recovery Image And Galexo ROM's
W ith the phone plugged in via U SB and the phone off go to com m and prom pt
by typing in cm d in search or run box in w indow s and cd to the tools directory
then
Type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.im g

It w illsay... < W aiting for device >
Long-press the tw o Callbuttons on the phone and you w illsee it load in fast
boot and confirm file transfer w as successful.
The new recovery im age w illbe flashed,
You need to get the relevant G alexo RO M you w ant from hdblog.it

you w illneed to register to get the text file w ith the link to the G alexo
update.zip files (bottom of his post)
M ount the SD on your PC and copy the rectools.tar.gz (from tools folder) and
update.zip(from hdblog) to your root directory on the sdcard by just dragging
and dropping the files in via m y com puter
Boot into recovery (VO L D O W N > > CALL > > EN D CALL) and do a G .apps
backup. It should take 10 to 12 seconds. Anything like 1 or 2 seconds m eans it
failed - reboot into recovery and go again
- W ipe in recovery, it'llreboot into recovery w hen done

- Apply sdcard:update.zip it'llreboot into recovery w hen done
- restore g.apps (if this keeps failing then m ount the SD card and form at it on
your PC)
- reboot
If the phone seem s to get stuck on the android screen on boot, be patient and
w ait for at least 10 m inutes, but it has got stuck for m e before and I have had
to just pullthe battery out and restart, it w illtake a w hile on first boot.
Removing unwanted files
The next parts are not necessary but can help free m em ory
O n the phone go to settings > > Applications > > D evelopm ent unselect then
select U SB debugging so it is ticked, this w illinstallany m issing drivers. I don’t
know w hy this needed to be done but it did for m e.
Cd to the tools directory from the com m and line w ith the phone turned on as
norm al
- adb rem ount

- adb push clearapps.sh /system /clearapps.sh
(you can edit clearapps.sh if you w ant to keep the w idgets or any other apps
you m ay w ant I suggest you look at it before running the file, just open it w ith
notepad)
Anything after // are com m ents if you didn’t know
Then run the follow ing com m ands:
- adb shell// O pens the Shell

- chm od + x /system /clearapps.sh // edits perm issions
- /system /clearapps.sh // runs clearapps.sh to rem ove unnecessary apps
- cd /data/dalvik-cache
- rm * // Clear allin cache
- reboot

Posts: 32 Sounds w hat you have done is correct, isuggest having device m anager open w hen you put the phone in
fast boot and if there is a m issing driver it should com e up and at least state w hich one you are m issing.

W hen im ount in debuging m ode, XP picks up the phone and launched the N ew H Ardw are W izard, but cant
do it autom atically, and idont have any driver files to point it to. Sim ultaneously, N PS launches w ith a G T-
i7500 icon w hich w hen iclick on, pops up a "device not supprted" notification. W hat am idoing w rong??

G alexH ero RO M v1.1 google if you are using the google sync.

AD B (Android D ebug Bridge) is a toolthat com es w ith the Android SD K that allow s you to controland
interface w ith your Android device
AD B is not necessary to flash to II5
4.)
Its difficult to say ihave flashed and reflashed m y phone on m any occasions and w hen idid run in to
problem s it w as easly fixed by re-flashing the phone again, w hat ihave read from other forum s is that if the
phone w as to loose pow er during flashing a certain file it m ay brick the phone. it suggests having at least
30% battery.

N ot having XP installed m akes it difficult if you have installed N PS I w ould suggest you probably have allthe
G alexH ero RO M v1.1 necessary drivers needed.

H ow long does the recovery boot take - iv got a screen w ith an exclam ation m ark and the phone beside it...

Thing is ithink idid the adb driver correctly - the com puter recognises the debugging m ode w hen m ounted

you need to installadb driver again for fastboot, its a nightm are as you have to do it w ithin 15 seconds and
point it to the adb driver

Sorry again m ate, I have now updated the post to be correct so if you dow nload the tools folder again.

fast boot is a seperate driver but you can use the adb driver for it.
its asking for 1.0 as its another driver type but it can use the sam e adb driver to run

W hen I uninstalled the incorrect driver I then toggled U SB debugging off/on and “U nknow n D evice”
G alexH ero RO M v1.1 appeared again in device m anager then I updated to the correct driver,

To see if adb is w orking then connect the device w ith debugging on then open a com m and prom pt cd to the

Yep, you need ii5. I w as on ih8 too and changed to ii5 first. G alaxhero (from w hat iunderstand) is built to

Thanks! This w orked seem ed to w ork perfectly (installing G alaxo from 64-bit Vista) but Superuser (and VPN
Join D ate: O ct 2009 that relies on it) doesn't seem to w ork. It just hangs. Am I doing som ething w rong?

w hen it says sdcard its m eaning the root location of your internalgalaxy m em ory
not an afterm arket sdcard.
the reason for this is because the galaxy has 8gig internalsdcard and it refers to the m ountable sections
as /sdcard
ithink you m ust be putting it on you additionalm icrosd card

w hen you open up the internalcard on the pc its the defaut place it opens, you do not need to create any

I have noticed there is no G .apps backup on the V0.4.2 could this be the problem ,should I follow D rakaz's

How to get Odin

So now to get O din, dow nload from : http://w w w .m egaupload.com /?

I7500XXII4 (originalO 2 Firm w are w ith CSC) M EG AU PLO AD - The leading

-O ne package from the options tick Boxes

-Select the file path for O PS w hich is the O rion.ops file

That’s it! D one.

This is to installthe AD B D river and G alexo RO M ’s AFTER you have flashed to

Installing Recovery Image And Galexo ROM's

Type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.im g

The new recovery im age w illbe flashed,

failed - reboot into recovery and go again

- W ipe in recovery, it'llreboot into recovery w hen done

Removing unwanted files

- adb rem ount

Anything after // are com m ents if you didn’t know

Then run the follow ing com m ands:

- adb shell// O pens the Shell

Samsung CDMA Android www.in.SamsungMobile.c

Automatic torque drivers www.Sumitron.com
