I have now done this severaltim es and a few have not w orked first tim e
around and som etim es I needed to start from scratch again as it did not w ork,

read it allin fulland m ake sure you know w hat you are doing. if you are unsure
or unw illing to take the risks leave it and do not go further as nobody w ants a
£450+ paper w eight. #######
First things first, you w illneed to installthe Sam sung drivers for your device if
you are using W indow s 7 (or probably W indow s Vista (G od Forbid)) allyou
need to do is plug in phone to the U SB port, m ount the D rive by dragging the
top bar dow n and selecting m ount.
Then go to Settings > > Applications > > D evelopm ent and select U SB
D ebugging and them m ount the drive again.
If allyou w ant to do is update firm w are via O din you can stop there for the
RO M S there is another driver you need but see below for that.
O nce you have allthe files you need, start the phone in dow nload m ode by
pressing Volum e D ow n > > O K > > and Pow er O n
The phone should boot to dow nload m ode, then plug in the U SB again and open
O din, then select:

Press start the phone w illreboot once done, you m ust then factory reset by
going, Settings > > SD card & Phone Storage > > Factory data reset
ADB Driver
First to get the required tools file for this go to http://w w w .m egaupload.com /?
d= 48D 1Q M W X
Then you need to installthe adb driver so enable debugging, Settings > >
Applications > > D evelopm ent and select U SB D ebugging :
Right click M y Com puter > > Properties > > D evice M anager then you should
see an unknow n device that did not installw hen w e plugged in the phone
previously, this driver is located in the tools file you just dow nloaded under
U SB_D river
So right click unknow n device and update driver softw are, you m ust choose
brow se m y com puter for softw are > > Let m e pick from a list of drivers > > next
> > have disk then brow se to the file w hich is \tools\usb_driver\x86
It m ay not be exactly the above it depends on your O S so keep searching for
the have disk option.
W ith the phone plugged in via U SB and the phone off go to com m and prom pt
by typing in cm d in search or run box in w indow s and cd to the tools directory
then
You need to get the relevant G alexo RO M you w ant from hdblog.it

you w illneed to register to get the text file w ith the link to the G alexo
update.zip files (bottom of his post)
M ount the SD on your PC and copy the rectools.tar.gz (from tools folder) and
update.zip(from hdblog) to your root directory on the sdcard by just dragging
and dropping the files in via m y com puter
Boot into recovery (VO L D O W N > > CALL > > EN D CALL) and do a G .apps
backup. It should take 10 to 12 seconds. Anything like 1 or 2 seconds m eans it

If the phone seem s to get stuck on the android screen on boot, be patient and
w ait for at least 10 m inutes, but it has got stuck for m e before and I have had
to just pullthe battery out and restart, it w illtake a w hile on first boot.
The next parts are not necessary but can help free m em ory
O n the phone go to settings > > Applications > > D evelopm ent unselect then
select U SB debugging so it is ticked, this w illinstallany m issing drivers. I don’t
know w hy this needed to be done but it did for m e.
Cd to the tools directory from the com m and line w ith the phone turned on as
norm al

Its difficult to say ihave flashed and reflashed m y phone on m any occasions and w hen idid run in to
problem s it w as easly fixed by re-flashing the phone again, w hat ihave read from other forum s is that if the
phone w as to loose pow er during flashing a certain file it m ay brick the phone. it suggests having at least
30% battery.

Thing is ithink idid the adb driver correctly - the com puter recognises the debugging m ode w hen m ounted

you need to installadb driver again for fastboot, its a nightm are as you have to do it w ithin 15 seconds and
point it to the adb driver

fast boot is a seperate driver but you can use the adb driver for it.
its asking for 1.0 as its another driver type but it can use the sam e adb driver to run

I am trying to install galexo but I am stuck on apply sdcard: update.zip .

1.6.3.4 O C@ 710m hz H TC Get E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip(No such file or directory) I can see the file on the sd card so is

w hen it says sdcard its m eaning the root location of your internalgalaxy m em ory
not an afterm arket sdcard.
the reason for this is because the galaxy has 8gig internalsdcard and it refers to the m ountable sections
as /sdcard

I did not find root location on the internalsdcard so I created a root diretory file and put the update zip in

w hen you open up the internalcard on the pc its the defaut place it opens, you do not need to create any

I have noticed there is no G .apps backup on the V0.4.2 could this be the problem ,should I follow D rakaz's
