(b) Explain the objectives of building byelaws in large urban areas. [9+7]
2. What do you understand by semi-detached house, row house and apartments? Write a note on the
planning of each of these, and also bring out their advantages and disadvantages. [16]
3. Design a college building for the following requirements and draw a single line diagram.
(a) Class room for 60 students each - 6 No.s - 60 sqm each.
(b) Library with reference and reading room - 1 No.-80 sqm.
(c) Principal room with attached toilet - 1 No. 25 sqm.
(d) Computer Lab - 2 Nos. 100 sqm each.
(e) Laboratory for Phy/Chem/Bio - 3 No. to accommodate 30 students each 300 sqm each.
(f) Staff rooms to accommodate 4 members in each 5 Nos. 50 sqm each.
(g) Office to accommodate 10 staff 1No. 100 sqm each.
(h) Store room - 1No. - 15 sqm.
(i) Record room - 1 No. - 10sqm
(j) Ladies room - 1 No. - 10 sqm.
(k) NCC and NSS rooms - 2 Nos. - 15 sqm each.
(l) Sports room - 1 No. - 100 sqm.
(m) Toilet blocks - 4 Nos. of suitable size.
