November was realy no surprise to those of us practicing real
estate here in Asheville. There were 112 units sold this Sold Inventory for February 2010
month which was low in comparison to most months this 54
year, but there were indications that the upper level inventory 60

is moving better than before. The south and west of the 40
county remain busy as buyers look to capitalize on heavy 30

inventory there and sell prices remain fairly on par month to 2

One of the biggest variables in the buying market right now is
the fluctuating mortgage rates. Over the past 4 weeks the
rates have been as low as 4.21% nationally and as high as
4.7%. Fluctauting rates like these are hard to predict and
trying to "lock in" a rate to purchase starts looking more and
more like gambling. In general, expectations are that rates
will continue to fluctuate with a tendency to inch higher Current Inventory for February 2010
