Arc Welding

CALIBRATION BENCH FOR STATIC CHARGE

USAGE
This calibration bench is needed by any distributors’ after sales service in
order to ensure a good calibration of MMA, TIG and MIG welding machines.
In order to calibrate a welding machine, one just need to activate the “setting +
mode”, apply the load resistance indicated in the charge table, and control

FUNCTION
GYS Calibration bench allows to calibrate arc welding machine according to
the IEC 60974-1 norm.
This norm sets the welding current that the welding machine needs to deliver
depending on the voltage. The calibration needs to be done on the whole
welding range of the machine. The relation between the current and the
voltage is given by:
MMA welding machines: U2 = (20 + 0,04 I2) V
TIG welding machines: U2 = (10 + 0,04 I2) V
MIG/MAG welding machines: U2 = (14 + 0,05 I2) V
GYS calibration bench allows controlling the welding current delivered by the
welding machine under the normalized voltage.
DESCRIPTION
This electromechanical machine contains an adjustable load resistance.
Resistors commutation is made by selectors.
Architecture :
- 12 coiled resistors on a ceramic support:
ƒ 10 resistors : 1 Ω 1000 W 5%.
ƒ 1 resistor : 2 Ω 600 W 5%.
ƒ 1 resistor: 4 Ω 300 W 5%.
- 12 selectors. 6 fans.

SETTINGS RANGE
:
Setting Range for MMA welding machines: from 5 A to 380 A
Setting Range for TIG welding machines: from 5 A to 180 A (with one charge)
Setting Range for TIG welding machines: from 5 A to 380 A (with two charges)
Setting Range for MIG/MAG welding machines: from 5 A to 320 A
Increment : 10 A
