Parker School Present:

Reuniting Parker, Dewey, Makiguchi

and Ikeda: Education for Community and
Citizenship across Language and Culture

Francis W. Parker John Dewey Tsunesaburo Makiguchi Daisaku Ikeda

This symposium engages international scholars of Parker, Dewey, Makiguchi and Ikeda in dia-
logue with academics, teachers, parents, students and community members about the con-
tributions and the continuing relevance of these four important educators. In “reuniting”
them, we seek to revitalize their shared perspectives and practices regarding educational
concepts that have been pushed to the margins of theory and practice because of external
and unwelcome pressures on education.

This event is FREE and open to the
