Beam Pump well inspection and maintenance regulation

1. Inspection
1.1 Polished rod
It should be checked everyday and should keep light and cool, if it is black and hot, maybe there is
no flowing from this well. The follow job should be done immediately--test production rate,
dynamometer card and fluid level; give the next proposal after collecting information and
analyzing. If polished rod is light and has a little hot, that is to say the stuffing box has a little tight
and need to be loosed.
1.2 Stuffing box
It should be checked daily and be kept cleaning without leakage.
1.3 Well head valve and tubing/casing pressure gauge
Check all well-head valves and make sure it is proper condition. For example, DL-119 casing
valve was forgotten after commissioned.
1.4 Balance—Measure Motor Current and Calculate balance ratio
Measure current ： Cup ---The up-stroke current and Cdown -----down-
stroke current need to be measured one week one time.
The method is that use current gauge measure the motor current
(refer to the figure 1), find the Max current C up during the up-stroke
and Max current Cdown during down-stroke. Calculate motor balance
ratio: Rbalance= (Cup/ Cdown) *100%, the scope is better between 85-
117%. If it is out of this scope, the beam pump balance should be
adjusted again.
1.5 Beam Pump Unit
1.5.1 New beam pump
Tight every part after it commission 24 hours. (It has been done by
SABA). Do this job again after one week. Again after one month
1.5.2 Normal beam pump
1.5.2.1 Check beam unit frame assembly tightness on cement block; make sure it never moves
from original position.
1.5.2.2 Check belt extension, one week one time.
1.5.2.3 Check motor and input pulley.
1.5.2.4 Check brake element wearing condition and adjust it if it is necessary. One week one time.
1.5.2.5 Inject grease and lubrication oil in time (according to beam pump manual).
1.5.2.6 Check gear reducer gear and its bearing condition according to beam pump manual.
1.5.2.7 Check gear reducer lubrication oil level---one time per month. Make sure lubrication oil
level is between up and down indicator bolt.
1.5.2.8 Check crank pin bolt nut, make sure it keeps the original position---everyday.
2 Tests
2.1 Production rate—go as Daleel regulation
2.2 Fluid level and dynamometer card---one time / per month
If the well production is abnormal, test it immediately.
Test it after hoist job was over and commissioned 3 days.
