Intensive Course in Teaching Arabic to Adults:

A Communicative Approach

This is an intensive course which has been developed by the Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World (CASAW) for teachers of Arabic to non-native speakers.

The course is a full-time five-day intensive course, which provides teachers with the skills required to develop strategies for teaching Arabic in a lively and communicative way, ensuring a high level of student motivation and rapid academic progress in all four language skill areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing. This unique method combines traditional face-to-face teaching methods with electronic resources available through CASAW’s eArabic Learning Portal.

Participants will be given the opportunity to teach real ‘live’ Arabic classes and receive constructive feedback by tutors and peers.

Applicants to the course must have native or near-native competence in Arabic and should be teachers, either of Arabic or of another subject and interested in transfering their skills to teaching Arabic
