Research Group A A STUDY TO ASSESS THE KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATE REGARDING IMMUNIZATION IN CHILDREN AMONGST MOTHER IN A COMMUNITY SETTING

NEED OF THE STUDY

According To WHO: Immunization has been regarded as the most cost effective intervention for child health promotion. Immunizing a child significantly reduces cost of creating diseases thus providing a health childhood and reducing poverty and suffering. According To EPI: Non immunization is the leading cause of high childhood morbidity and mortality in developing countries.

OBJECTIVES
To assess the knowledge of mothers regarding immunization. To create awareness amongst mothers about the six killer diseases and their available immunization. To prevent the children from six killer diseases.

ANALYSES AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data collection to evaluate the effectiveness of the planned teaching programme on universal immunization in terms of knowledge and practice of mother in the selected community. This purpose of analysis is to reduce the data to an intangible and interpretable form, so that the research problems can be studied and tested the research analyst has broken down data in constituents parts to obtain answers to the research question and to test the research hypotheses. According to Polit and Hungler (1999) data analysis is the systematic organisation and synthesis of research data and testing of research hypothesis using the data. Abdella and levine (1999) stated that interpretation of tabulated data could being to light the real the real meaning of the findings of the study. Analysis and interpretation of data are based on data collection through structured knowledge questionnaire and structured skill observation checklist from mothers of selected community meharauli. Analyse s and interpretation of data were based on the objectives of the study and hypothesis to be tested. Both deceptive and influential statics have been used. OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY:1. To assess the pre-test knowledge score regarding immunization among mothers. 2. To prepare a planned teaching programme. 3. To evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme regarding immunization.

ORGANIZATION AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA Raw data collected were entered in the master sheet for the statistical analysis .The data findings have been organized and presented under the following heading . SECTION-A description of sample characteristic. SECTION-B Finding related to knowledge regarding universal immunization amogst the mother SECTION A This section comprises of 10 samples of the elicits of the personal information of mother under the study. The sample consist of 50 mothers in Nutt colony of Mehrauli. The data obtained describes the demographic characteristics Age , Religion , Education of Mother, Occupation of Mother, Monthly Income, No of children, Status of Immunization of family , knowledge about Immunization, source of knowledge, access of health service frequency and percentage age computed for describing demographic characteristics. SECTION B This section deals with the interpretation of the data to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on universal immunisation amongst mothers. The pre test and the post test knowledge obtained through structured known questionnaire were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics .The mean post test knowledge score is 20.1 of sample was higher then the pre test knowledge score with the mean difference of 12.42. Mean of pre test is 8.82,mean of post test is 20.1. mean of post test is 20.1 ,standard deviation of difference is 5.2 and standard error is 0.65.
