1) Check the Current Version of Device Mappings using the command

/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpext -get_dev_mappings_ver

2) Make a copy of original external_robotics.txt and external_types.txt

and the location of these files is /usr/openv/var/global

3) Download and extract the new mappings file package to a temporary

directory:

tar -xvf Mappings_6_NNNNNN.tar

(where NNNNNN is the ID number of this TechFile)

This will create three files in the temporary location:
 Readme.txt (this file)
 external_robotics.txt
 external_types.txt

4) Copy all the external*.* files from the temporary directory to the
/usr/openv/var/global
cp external* /usr/openv/var/global/

4) Update the NetBackup Enterprise Media Manager database(MASTER

SERVER) with the new device mappings version.  This only needs to be done
once and must be run from the Master Server or the EMM Server.  Use the
command format below that corresponds to the installed version of NetBackup:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpext -loadEMM

*NOTE*
(On Media Servers running 7.x, 6.5 or 6.0_MP5 and later, this command is
not needed since ltid will update the device mappings when it starts.)

5) On all the servers (Master Server and Media Servers)

Restart the NBU media management

/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/stopltid
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmps
kill -9 (any remaining processes)
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/ltid -v

6)Again Check the Version of Device Mappings with the command

/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpext -get_dev_mappings_ver
