BM Video Player: Main Idea

In my Video Player proposal, the interface is

divided in three states:

• Icon State (minimized)

• Menu State (menu with available programs)
• Video State (the actual video)

This way the available information don’t have to

compete for attention, creating a more
immersive experience (it’s a TV, huh?)

BM Video Player: Icon State

The Icon State sits on the TaskBar (windows) or

in the Menu Bar (mac), and shows how many
programs are available to watch, and what’s
new.

Minor Features/Comments

• The Video State should override the

screensaver (the computer will be idle)
• All prebuffering is welcome (easy, since the
order of the videos is preset)
• Is it possible to go fullscreen? If yes, we have a
forth state there.
• The time duration is necessary - there’s no
default duration for internet videos, and not
knowing when it ends enrages the user and
prevents immersion.
- No Preferences screenshot is provided (I can
bring you after a discussion)

Optional: Instant Feedback

Since the purpose of the internet video is to

move from the one-to-many monolog to the
many-to-many dialog, nothing more appropriate
than allow the viewer to share his thoughts.

Technically, it works as
iTunes podcast chapter
tools, an XML metadata
where the author
provides:
• Appearance time

• Title
• URL
and the app shows it in
the exact time.
