Heels –

Chunky black heels with multiple bow trims and

adjustable straps
As comfy as a pair of trainers – she says!
Like an aspiring athlete mastering the art of calf
elevation,
In her new fitness footwear!
Tonight -
She dresses in her glad-rags,
Slipping on her shoes as if they were slippers
Readily worn on a cosy evening in front of the TV
Men -
Jaw dropping, eye goggling, men
Licking their lips as her heels descend the stairs,
Like clattering cans, towards the ladies.
Women -
Less than five foot tall and sporting flats
Battering an envious eye as she leans over
To apply more lipstick in the mirror!
Shoes –
The essential female obsession!
Towering wedges, platforms and stilettos
To sheepskin boots and fashionable brands with a
French sole!
Tonight -
Its high heels and glad-rags but tomorrow
She will be dipping her chocolate digestives into a
steaming brew
Whilst wearing her kinky black leather knee high boots!
Choosing Shoes
by Frida Wolfe

New shoes, new shoes,

Red and pink and blue shoes.
Tell me, what would you choose,
If they'd let us buy?

Buckle shoes, bow shoes,

Pretty pointy-toe shoes,
Strappy, cappy low shoes;
Let's have some to try.

Bright shoes, white shoes,

Dandy-dance-by-night shoes,
Perhaps-a-little-tight shoes,
Like some? So would I.

BUT
Flat shoes, fat shoes,
Stump-along-like-that shoes,
Wipe-them-on-the-mat shoes,
That's the sort they'll buy.
A Closet Full Of Shoes By Shel Silverstein
Pg. 118
Party shoes with frills and bows,
Workin’ shoes with steel toes,
Sneakers, flip-flops. And galoshes,
Brogans, oxfords, satin pumps,
Dancin’ taps and wooden clumps,
Shoes for climbin’ shoes for hikes,
Football cleats and baseball spikes,
Shoes of shiny patent leather,
Woolly shoes for winter weather,
Loafers, rough-outs, sandals, spats,
High heels, low heels, platforms, flats,
Moccasins and fins and flippers,
Shower clogs ballet slippers…
A zillion shoes and just one missin’--
That’s the one that matches this’n.

We always need something to remind us who we are and how we

should treat others in this short life. The shoes in this poem represent
the potential we have to make the world a better place.
Let the poem do the talking

Magical Shoes

Every body has a pair of shoes

That makes anger disappear
They turn hate into love
Make you brave, not to fear

They lead your feet to the homeless

So that you can make their day
Make the world a nicer place
To live in and to stay

With them you are not selfish

But all you try to do is give
Make you realise that life is short
So we should all simply live

Every one has these shoes

No bodies have ever gone
So why do some thoughtless people
Not put their shoes on?
My shoes

My shoes are new and squeaky shoes,

They’re very shiny, creaky shoes,

I wish I had my leaky shoes

That mummy threw away.

I liked my old brown leaky shoes

Much better than these creaky shoes -

These shiny, creaky, squeaky shoes

I’ve got to wear today.

Shoes

Red shoes, blue shoes,

Old shoes, new shoes,

Shoes that are comfy,

Shoes that are tight,

Shoes that are black,

Shoes that are white.

Shoes with buckles,

Shoes with bows,

Shoes that are narrow,

And pinch your toes.

Shoes that are yellow,

Shoes that are green,

Shoes that are dirty,

Shoes that are clean.

Shoes for cold weather,

Shoes for when it’s hot.

Shoes with laces

That get tangled in a knot!
