Select an organisation with which you are familiar, identify the business planning and
strategy used in the organisation (vision, mission statement); their goals and values
processes (ethical, cultural, environmental, social and business objectives); how the
organisation monitors and evaluates its objectives, strategies and goals.
The report will constitute 100% of the grade for this component; the marks are allocated as
follows:

Identify the external factors impacting upon the organisation-PESTEL and PORTER
From this list identify the key forces that need specific focus and attention
Highlight how the organisation can gain competitive advantage in respect of these external
factors and forces, what is your company capable of in respect to their internal capabilities
and resources which allows them to compete in this external environment-unique selling
points, how they achieve and attain maintain competitive advantage,
Identify potential future challenges, Speculate future, trends, forecasts what people expect
to be happening over the coming years
What impact it will have on the organisation, How may that affect the strategy of the
organisation
