Behavior:
 The pt doesn’t pay attention to details or
makes careless mistakes
 The pt has trouble staying focused and
get easily distracted
 Appears not to listen when spoken to
 Has difficulty remembering things and
following instructions
o The pt often leaves her seat in situations
where sitting quietly is expected  Nurse must monitor weight
o She Talks excessively and has difficulty in
playing quietly
 Has difficulty waiting for his or her turn
 Often interrupts others
PSYCHOPATHOLOGY
Psychopharmacology: Milleu Management:
 Methylphenidate  Develop trust relationship
Moa: increases attention life span and cognitive  Set realistic expectations and limits
performance because the patient wit ADHD is easily
frustrated/distracted
SE:
Anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea  Always remain calm and consistent with
NC: the child.
 Keep all your instructions to the child short
Give the meds 30 mins before meal and simple.
 Provide praise and rewards whenever
possible.
 Provide the patient with diversional
activities suited to his short attention span
 Provide safe/calm environment
