Course Syllabus

H.A. 212 – HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN ORGANIZATION

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Specifically, the Master in Hospital Administration program of St. Jude College aims to
produce graduates with the following competencies:

 ability to respond to the health needs of the local community and of the nation
 ability to practice health care in a global setting
 ability to undertake research to improve health care
 ability to lead in health care programs and projects
 readiness to demonstrate the Thaddean values of social responsibility, just and
humane regard for people and commitment to service.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

At the end of the semester, the students are expected to understand human behavior and how it
affects an organization.
Specifically, the study aims to:

1. Understand men and their needs, drives and urges and their implications to management of
men;

2. Appreciate the influence of man as a component of the organization; and

3. Analyze human behavior as it affects the organization, its operation and future possibilities.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course is focused on analysis of cases that concerns the individual as a person and member
of an organization, his aspirations and they affect his work group behavior, his relations with others,
and his leadership potentialities. Also discussed is the topic on organization development (O.D.) which
is an important aspect in the study of human behavior in organization.
