Every year, “Monumenta” invites an artist to occupy the 13 500 sqm and 45 m high glass roof of
the Grand Palais. This is a real challenge for the artist selected who inevitably creates a
monumental work of art specially conceived for the event.

This year, the British and Indian artist Anish Kapoor enters into the exercise with its installation
named “Leviahtan”. If you have the chance not having been exposed to descriptions of
“Leviahtan” published in newspapers, keep the surprise before you go. You will be lost, stunned,
puzzled, your imagination stimulated by this artistic experience accessible to everyone.

Before you go, you can get introduced to Anish Kapoor’s work, notably creator of Cloud Gate, an
emblematic and popular sculpture set in the Millenium Park in Chicago.

Chaque année, l’événement « Monumenta » invite un artiste à investir les 13 500 mètres carré
au sol et les 45 mètres de hauteur de la magistrale verrière du Grand Palais. Un véritable défi à
relever pour l’artiste choisi qui propose une œuvre forcément monumentale et conçue
spécifiquement pour l’occasion.

Cette année, c’est l’artiste britannique d’origine indienne Anish Kapoor qui se prête à l’exercice
avec son installation intitulée « Leviathan ». Si vous avez la chance d’avoir échappé aux
descriptions de « Leviathan » parues dans la presse, gardez la surprise avant de vous y rendre.
Vous serez désorienté, ébahi, intrigué, l’imagination stimulée, par cette expérience artistique à la
portée de tous.

En attendant de vous y rendre, vous pouvez néanmoins faire connaissance avec le travail
d’Anish Kapoor qui est notamment l’auteur de Cloud Gate, une sculpture emblématique et
