Instructions for Authors

Contributions to the journal should be sent to the editor of Arabica:

revue.arabica@free.fr

Manuscripts should be submitted as email attachments in PDF format and/or Word format with
notes at the end of the file. Please also use an up-to-date virus checker before sending the
electronic file by e-mail.

Contributions should be original work which has neither been simultaneously submitted for
publication elsewhere nor published previously. Authors are asked to write either in English, or
French, and the text should be grammatically correct and punctuation and spelling should be
adapted according to the language used. The manuscript must be numbered consecutively,
double spaced, and complete, including all notes, bibliographical references, tables, etc. Full and
consistent bibliographical annotation is required (suggested systems are the Chicago Manual of
Style and the style of the Modern Language Association) and consistent and appropriate
transliteration of Arabic names and terms (see table below).

The contribution should start with an abstract of no more than 150 words that clearly defines the
thesis and the sources quoted. The full contact details of the author should appear at the end of
the manuscript.

In case of special characters and/or diacritics, the fonts that have been used must be sent along.
Alternatively, a PDF with the fonts imbedded can be sent, or authors will be required to supply
camera-ready copy of Arabic texts to be included in their articles.

In accordance with standard academic practice, articles submitted for Arabica are subject to a
process of peer review. Manuscripts that are not accepted for publication cannot be returned.

Production
Authors of accepted contributions receive two sets of proofs for proof reading. These should be
returned promptly within the period requested, with no corrections marked other than those
resulting from the conversion period. In the event of a multi-authored contribution, proofs are
sent to the first-named author unless otherwise requested.
