Action research plans

BBC | British Council 2008

There are no set formats for designing classroom action research plans. Some teachers like to use calendars such as the following to provide a framework for what, how and when they will do the research.
Term 1 Septembe r Week 1 Week 2 Reflect: issue/problem/topic of interest, eg, motivating learners to speak in English more effectively Plan how to collect data Analyze data. Week 3

Week 4

Explore topic, Talk to colleagues. Consult publications. Form a research question.

October November

Carry out research. Record data. Make decisions on what to do next. Implement changes. Communica te with learners.

December

Reflect on changes. Discuss with colleagues. Plan a review for next term.

Another method is to complete a grid, such as this one.
