COPYRIGHT AND PIRACY FROM MORAL AND LEGAL STANDPOINT

WHAT IS COPYRIGHT
Copyright The legal right granted to an author, composer playwright, or distributor to exclusive publication, production, sale or distribution of a literacy, musical, dramatic, or artistic work.

WHAT IS PIRACY
Piracy Piracy is the unauthorized use of material that is covered by copyright law, in a manner that violates one of the original copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work.

WHY THERE IS PIRACY?


To enjoy services or entertainment at low cost prices or no cost to the consumer.




A lot of consumers download musics, videos, games, softwares from the because they want to enjoys the service or entertainment without having to incur hight cost as is the case when purchased through the high street. They seek for financial gains and rewards through sales of pirated materials at competitive prices to those sold for original copies on the internet or high street People use piracy as a means to sabotage businesses of oppenents or competitiors in order to intentionally frustrate and ruin the rivals business.

IMPORTANCE OF COPYRIGHT

Allows copyright owner to control certain uses of their work. Most importantly, this protection gives the copyright owner the right to control the copying of their material, adapting and transmitting the material.

MORAL ISSUES
Give a chance to the creator to able to make a living and provide jobs for many other people Piracy is one of the crime act. So, avoid them Decrease the chance to get problems. Such as, being sued or get arrested

LEGAL ISSUES

Copyright give huge economy impact on any country. Thats why several acts are created for this purposes. The Act: The Copyright Act of 1987 provides for copyright enforcement by the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, apart from the police. Copyright owners may lodge an official complaint supported by the necessary documents to the Ministry's Enforcement Division if they suspect infringement. The Division will conduct the necessary investigations and prosecutions.
