ThisGuideprovidesChubbCAHsgeneraldefinitionstothetypesofunderwritingproductsapprovedforLatin
AmericanZone.Eachunderwritingproductislistedwiththeirassociationtocorporatecodesthatwillenable
the allocation of premium, and ultimately losses, to be correct in MIS, Chubb financial management report
andscorecard.
Additional reference to the codes needed in the corporate systems that will eventually flow to MIS is also
included.ThemappinghereindescribedassetupfortheLatinAmericanZoneandsystems.
The intention of this document is to provide guidance in order to ensure accurate information throughout
Chubbcorporatereportsandsystems.Itisnotintendedtobethesolesourceofinformation.Usersshould
refer to zone or Home Office underwriting authority for the most recent information or clarification in the
eventofmisleadinginformation.
Definitions
DistributionMethod:
Producers are a combination of Agent and Brokers who are licensed to sell Chubb insurance. This is the
standardChubbmethodofdistributionworldwide

Employer
Policies sold to an Employer or it's employees, through a Producer. The employer

caneitherbethepayeeorcantransferthecosttotheemployee.
Association
Policies sold to an Association or members of an association, through a Producer.

TheAssociationcaneitherbethepayeeorcantransferthecosttotheassociation
member.Examplesincludeprofessionalassociations,tradeassociations,andclubs.
Policies sold to a Financial Institution or it members, through a Producer. The
Financial Institution can either be the payee or can transfer the cost to members.
Financial institutions specifically address affiliations with banks, mortgage
companies, building societies, department stores, and other financial/lending
affiliations.

andthereisnogroupsponsororaffiliation.

Policies sold with direct marketing efforts where the association, trade union,

FinancialInstitution
Individual
Policies sold with direct marketing efforts where the bank, mortgage company,
departmentstore,etc.isthegroupsponsor.
Policies sold with direct marketing efforts where there is no group sponsor
affiliation. Examples may include a broad TV commercial or mailing to a non
affiliatedgroup.
Work Site marketing is another nontraditional distribution channel where individuals of the sponsor group
aremarketed/solicitedforinsurance.Thesalecanbepassive(e.g.emailorbrochuresdistributedwiththe
member making a buy/no buy decision) or active (e.g. professional enrollers at the worksite gathering
membersforpresentations,Q&A,andenrollment)

Scheduled air business only means the circumstances arising from
and occurring while the insured person is traveling on assignment by
or at the direction of the policyholder and is riding as a passenger in a
scheduled aircraft or entering, exiting or being struck by a scheduled
aircraft or a conveyance operated by a military transport service.

Common carrier business only means the circumstances arising from
and occurring while the insured person is traveling on assignment of
the policyholder and while in, entering, exiting or being struck by a
conveyance operated by a common carrier licensed to carry the
public for a fee or a conveyance operated by a military transport
service or when on a personal excursion.
Common carrier business only means the circumstances arising from
and occurring while the insured person is traveling on assignment of
