further to amend the North-West Province Civil Servants Act, 1973. Preamble.--- WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the North-West Frontier Province Civil Servants Act, 1973 (N.-W.F.P. Act No. XVIII of 1973), for the purpose hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows: 1. Short title and commencement.---(1) This Act may be called the North-West Frontier Province Civil Servants (Amendment) Act, 2009. (2) It shall come into force at once.

2. 2. Amendment of section 19 of N.-W.F.P. Act No. XVIII of 1973.--- In the North-West Frontier Province Civil Servants Act, 1973, (N.-W.F.P. Act No. XVIII of 1973), in section 19, in sub-section (2), in the existing proviso, the word further shall be inserted after the word Provided and before the existing proviso, as so amended, the following new proviso shall be inserted, namely Provided that where a civil servant appointed to a pensionable post on regular basis before the 1st day of July, 2001, is appointed to another post after the 1st day of July 2001, without any service break, he shall be given an option either to retain the benefit of pension and gratuity as allowed to him under his previous terms of appointment or to avail the benefit of contributory Provident Fund allowed to him under his new appointment:. STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASONS It is desirable to amend the North-West Frontier Province Civil Servants Act, 1973 (N.-W.F.P. Act No. XVIII of 1973). Hence this Bill.
