Area of Assignment: Sogod District Hospital Sogod So. Leyte

I.

ACTIVITIES:
For the whole month of July, I was assigned at ward area and isolation ward. One of my activities in ward area is to receive an endorsement from a previous shift, to receive a newly admitted patient from Emergency room, emphasized to pregnant mother and to the post partum mother the importance of breastfeeding and to the newborn screening, instruct the mother to burp the baby every after breastfeeding, assist the doctors in taking the newborn screening, ET tube insertion and CPR. I also attended the nursing service meeting conducted last July 15.

LEARNINGS/INSIGHTS:
Working as nurse in hospital are full of challenges, trials, stress but also full of joy, happiness and satisfaction especially if we see our patient healed and recovered from their illness.

III.

ISSUES/CONCERNS:
Lack of supplies and equipments in the hospital are still one of my concerns but luckily there are some donations came from the other nation with the help of Dr. Alinsub.

IV.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Hopefully our government put enough budget in health program so that we can have enough supplies and equipments.
