destrinization in commercial areas of Lahore(a case study of liberty market and anarkali bazar)

Abstract
Increasing number of vehicle ownership is causing various transportation and other related problems.ckoked traffic and parking problems can be clearly seen in all the busy and large commercial areas.recently a nnew technique off pedestrinization is introduced at the international level and is successfully adopted by many of the developed countries like America,GERmany, Belgium, China and Austrilla. But still in many of the developing countries that technique is unknown.some have adopted it but could not implement it successfully .this research work on pedestrinization taking Lahore as an example with two case s tudy areas that are Liberty Market and Anarkali Bazar .Field Surveys and Interviews of these case study areas have shown that in Liberty Market Lahore Development Authority has successfully implemented pedestrinization policy and resolved many of the traffic and environmental problems .in case of Anarkali problems like parking,environmental Pollution and encroachment have been observed and noted through interviews from both the customers and shopkeepers.it has been concluded that about 90% of the people i n liberty are satisfied with the implementation of pedestrinization and in anarkali about 80% people are willing to pedestrinize it completely and to develop parking plaza near Neela Gumbad Site.it has also been recommended that concerned development Authority should introduce Pedestrinization in Anar Kali Bazar and to have its strong hold on the law enforcement and implementation of its standards and rules and regulations to save it from its present as well as future problems.
